Man United Lead The Race To Sign Premier League Winger

Manchester United have reportedly become the frontrunners to sign Crystal Palace winger, Michael Olise in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have long been credited with interest to sign the French talent.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival at the club has raised expectations for United to bolster their squad during the transfer window.

According to Football Transfers as reported by Caught Offside, the Red Devils are the top contenders to sign the talented Premier League winger.

The 22-year-old has made just 19 league appearances this season, and he scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists.

The biggest teams in England have taken notice of his excellent play. The publication also reported that Newcastle United are another club said to be interested in signing the player.

The player who assisted the Eagles in finishing in the top half of the Premier League standings is being pursued by Man United ahead of Eddie Howe’s team.

Olise has been a regular player for the Premier League team since manager Oliver Glasner took over. He has improved his output in the final third and become a more lethal finisher.

The report claims that Olise, who was a Man United supporter growing up, is excited about switching to Old Trafford.

He has a release clause in his contract from last year that is worth approximately €70 million. So it looks like he will be leaving Selhurst Park soon to make a major move this summer.

Since Antony’s high-profile departure from Ajax, Man United’s right wing has been a major source of concern due to his lack of performance.

The objective of the Red Devils’ investment strategy is to acquire young players who will benefit the team in the long run.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is the 2023/24 winner of the club’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, his third time in five seasons at Old Trafford.

Diogo Dalot finished second in the voting, with Kobbie Mainoo in third place a matter of months after becoming a first-team regular, and Alejandro Garnacho fourth.

Fernandes often stood alone in a difficult campaign for United that saw them slip to a record-low eighth-place Premier League finish.

The 29-year-old, handed the captaincy on a full-time basis last summer, scored 15 times in all competitions and registered a further 12 assists.

His previous Sir Matt Busby trophies have come in 2020 and 2021, with Marcus Rashford winning last year. Only David de Gea (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018) and Cristiano Ronaldo (2004, 2007, 2008, 2022) have won the accolade, as voted for by fans, more often. Fernandes’ third gong takes him ahead of two-time winners Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Brian McClair.

Meanwhile, Dalot was rewarded with the Players’ Player of the Year award for his remarkable campaign.
