A report has emerged explaining why Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will fly to Abu Dhabi this week.
The Catalan tactician seems determined to spearhead City to yet another successful campaign during the 2024/2025 season. Pep Guardiola addressed the local supporters who attended Manchester City’s parade after they won four Premier League titles in a row — promising them that his team will win the FA Cup next season.

Why Pep Guardiola will travel to Abu Dhabi this week
In May, it was claimed that the decision-makers at City are hoping Guardiola decides where his future lies by Christmas this year.
However, it was also reported that the two-time treble-winner is currently considering leaving the club after the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
MARCA have claimed that Pep Guardiola will be travelling alongside sporting director Txiki Begiristain to meet Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak to discuss his future.
The report claims that CEO Ferran Soriano, alongside Begiristain, could also follow Guardiola out of the Etihad Stadium’s exit door in 2025.
When Guardiola extended his contract in November 2022, The Times reported that his decision came after meeting Al-Mubarak in Abu Dhabi.
Man City would be hoping to keep Guardiola for a few more years
The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Ederson have been linked with exits this summer — three of arguably the most important players behind City’s success under Pep Guardiola.
On Monday, Guardiola admitted that he hopes Bernardo stays at the club next summer. As for De Bruyne, he suggested last Tuesday that he is open to a move to the Saudi Pro League. A report claimed on Sunday that Al-Nassr are prepared to hold talks with Ederson to bring them to their club in the summer.
Even if such key players end up leaving in 2025, another big name in Kyle Walker’s contract will expire in 2026.
With such senior players potentially on the verge of leaving, the Manchester City decision-makers would be hoping to convince Pep Guardiola to stay at the club for a few more years.
If City kickstart a squad rebuild, the fresh faces will need time to adapt to the demands of the Premier League and the club as a whole.
For Guardiola to guide them through the process could mean Manchester City remain successful while having a team ready to continue dominating even after his departure.

Guardiola says he hopes 29-year-old stays at Man City next season
For instance, it was reported by Fabrizio Romano last month that Ederson could leave the English giants if he receives a “good proposal.”
On Sunday, it was even stated that Al-Nassr were ready to hold talks with the Brazilian to get a move over the line for him.
But now, Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he wishes for Bernardo Silva to stay at Manchester City next season.
Guardiola said via journalist Victor Navarro: “There are many rumours in the press on Bernardo but no one has called us so far”.

“We’ve received no calls from Barça or any other club”.
“He’s a wonderful player, I hope he’s gonna stay with us at Manchester City”.
Bernardo Silva recently dropped hint about Man City future
So far, it seems like Bernardo Silva is not edging towards exiting the Etihad Stadium — with Pep Guardiola claiming that no club have contacted Manchester City about signing him this summer.
While there is a degree of uncertainty surrounding the £43 million man’s future, in our view, he recently provided a hint that he could be considering staying at City.
On international duty, Bernardo Silva admitted that he would like for Joao Neves, as a fellow Portuguese player to play alongside him at Manchester City.
For Bernardo to make such a claim could indicate that his heart might be set on continuing his seven-year spell at the club.
If an offer does come through the door from a top club, one will await to discover if the 29-year-old fancies a change of scenery.
But based on Bernardo Silva’s quotes, he might have hinted that his future lies in East Manchester.
