Man United Latest Transfer News: Man United close completes another summer transfer deal, player reached ‘General agreement’ with £25m star ‘chosen’ to ‘replace’ Casemiro

At the beginning of the month, Mason Greenwood was linked with multiple clubs. Benfica, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus were among those said to be keen.

The Lisbon club quickly made it clear to their local media there was no interest and it was all a fabrication, and there doesn’t appear to be anything happening with Dortmund either.

Of the claims around the trio, Juventus would be the last ones still credited with interest in the Manchester United player.

The Red Devils are looking to get rid on a permanent basis, and Gazzetta dello Sport have been covering the situation daily.

In their Thursday edition, it’s reported Juventus have reached a ‘general agreement’ with Greenwood’s entourage. There’s no specifics mentioned on that but it’s likely to be his approval to the move, and a rough level of salary.

The Turin club would then have to negotiate a deal with Manchester United, and today it’s said they want €40-50m.

Juventus think that’s high, and they need to sell players anyway, before having a chance to seriously go into negotiations. Therefore, this one may drag on for quite a while before anything really concrete happens.

£25m star ‘chosen’ to ‘replace’ Casemiro

Manchester United have reportedly ‘chosen’ their preferred replacement for Brazil international Casemiro, who is being targeted by Saudi Pro League clubs.

The Red Devils paid around £60m to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid in 2022. He enjoyed a strong debut season but his performances significantly declined during the 2023/24 campaign.

The 32-year-old is under contract until 2026 but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that he is going to leave Man Utd this summer.

“It’s now anticipated that there will be a chance for him to leave the club this summer,” Romano said.

“We already heard some stories back in November, but there were never any concrete proposals at the time.

“This could change in the summer as Manchester United are anticipating some interest, particularly from Saudi clubs, for Casemiro. The expectation now is for the club and the player to part ways.”

Man Utd are expected to be busy during this summer’s transfer window and one of their priorities will be to sign a new defensive midfielder.

According to reports in Spain, AS Monaco star Youssouf Fofana has been ‘chosen to replace Casemiro’.

The 25-year-old France international has made 175 appearances for AS Monaco over the past five seasons. They are at risk of losing the defensive midfielder in the summer as he is about to enter the final year of his contract.

“From what I heard”: Journalist says Man United are working tirelessly to get FOUR deals done at the same time, Assures ‘here we go!’ in the next few hours

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Man United “have to spend” this summer and could make “four big signings”.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – admitted the Red Devils’ squad will still lack cohesion because of a lack of “direction” at the top level.

Man United finished eighth last season but will play Europa League football in the 2024-25 campaign after winning the FA Cup.

As per multiple sources, Erik ten Hag will stay on as manager next term after the conclusion of an end-of-season review.

The Red Devils are now turning attention to summer business, with Football Insider revealing on Monday (10 June) that United are poised to race Tottenham to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

Man United ‘have the resources’ for ‘four big signings’, says Wyness

Wyness claimed the club have the headroom in Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) to spend big.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Without Dan Ashworth or someone in that sporting director role, with a manager who is unstable in his position – how can they make serious decisions?

“Who’s going to be making those decisions? It’s very hard to see.

“I think Man United have to spend. There’s going to be fan pressure again.

“They have to shore up the defence, they have to do something with the attack.

“They’ve got the resources to do it, they’ve got the PSR headroom to make it happen.

“I think they will carry on and try and make three or four big signings.

“But the squad still won’t be cohesive, because there’s no real direction in terms of who is making these big decisions.

“I’ve heard Jason Wilcox is going to help with the style of play, but he shouldn’t be involved in the transfer targets.

“This is not the strong leadership they had under Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill. It’s now being run by a committee.

“United may end up being a strange collection of players with another tough season ahead.”

Man United desperately want to get 21-year old defender’s deal done in the next 24-hours, offered a bid bigger than his worth with eye-watering wage

Manchester United have put a big offer on the table for Lille defender Lenny Yoro, but he’s fully focused on getting to Real Madrid in any way possible.

according to AS, who say while Manchester United’s bid is on the table, it’s not tempting the youngster to change his plans.

A report earlier this month stated Manchester United had made an out of market offer for Yoro, who is one of the rising stars of European football.

It was explained that they and Paris Saint Germain had made their move for him in an attempt to beat Real Madrid to his signature, with them refusing to rush into anything after focusing their efforts and money on Kylian Mbappe.

AS back that up today and state that Real Madrid still want Yoro but won’t be going out of their way to make it happen.

They feel they already have a spectacular squad at their disposal and so won’t be doing anything crazy to add to it for the time being.

That’s a stance they’re sticking to, even though PSG and Manchester United have ‘already made moves’ for him.

Indeed, the latter are ‘very serious’ about getting the youngster and have already put an offer on the table that is ‘very close’ to the €60m Lille are demanding for him.

That’s not swayed Real Madrid to make a bid themselves and they are continuing to insist they will only ever offer €40m as the youngster is out of contract next summer.

Thus, Lille could be tempted into accepting the offer from Manchester United, but then they’d have to convince Yoro, who steps on the brakes and insists he goes to Madrid. If he can’t do that this summer, he’ll spend another year in France and so on a free transfer next year.

This all feels like the Spanish newspaper hyping Real Madrid’s position, and it’s possible Manchester United’s effort has been exaggerated in order to build more drama.

Man United ‘agree to’ spend big to secure £140million superstar signing after Erik ten Hag told INEOS he’s the only player he need to meet the club demands

After weeks in doubt, it looks highly likely that Erik ten Hag will be the head coach of Manchester United going into the new season.

The Red Devils did win the FA Cup but had dismal Premier League and Champions League campaigns, hence the squad must be reinforced in the summer transfer window.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are prepared to back Ten Hag with ample funds to secure major signings.

According to an exclusive story covered by Football Insider, Man Utd are ‘ready to’ provide a transfer budget of £140million to improve the squad for Ten Hag.

The above mentioned budget would increase with the sale of star players and the club are in the process of selling Sancho, Greenwood and veteran, Casemiro.

In the two years in charge of the club, the former Ajax manager has spent a lot of money and it will be fair to say that majority of the funds have been wasted on average signings.

United broke the bank for Antony, who only netted a single goal in the last Premier League campaign. A decent amount was paid for Onana and he failed to adequately replace De Gea.

Malacia and Martinez looked promising but the duo have spent majority of the time on the treatment table since moving to Old Trafford.

Hojlund still needs time to settle, Amrabat rarely started last term and Mount proved to be a flop.

Therefore, United need to improve their recruitment system and quality reinforcements are needed this term if they are to bounce back next season.
