Kobbie Mainoo has delivered an insight into what England teammate Cole Palmer is really like behind the scenes in training.
Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, along with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, are currently a hot topic for conversation with the England fanbase after Tuesday night. Both made positive contributions off the bench in England’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia.
Gareth Southgate’s side have ended up topping Group C at Euro 2024 to qualify for the last-16 stage, where their opponents are still undecided. But the Three Lions have hardly lit up the tournament so far by scoring just two goals in three group stage matches.
Palmer showed during his 20-minute cameo versus Slovenia why supporters have been crying out to see him. He finally got his first minutes of the summer tournament last night. In fairness, the 22-year-old came on to the pitch on the right wing and played several forward passes to inject a spark into the team.

Kobbie Mainoo talks about what Chelsea player is like in training
Mainoo, 19, was extremely positive about Palmer immediately after England’s draw against Slovenia. He even shared that the Chelsea attacker is frequently one of the best players in training with the national team. Apparently, he “never” doesn’t give 100 per cent.
When asked about Palmer in his post-match interview, Mainoo told ITV Football: “Everyone knows he’s electric. We’ve seen in the Premier League what he can do and he’s continuing that. I’m sure he will continue to do it in the next rounds as well.
“One of the best in training every day, he never lets off the gas and he’s always trying to score goals, always trying to get better. Like the rest of the lads are as well.”

The Chelsea Chronicle was baffled that Palmer didn’t play in either of England’s opening two group stage matches. However, he needed just 20 minutes against Slovenia to remind everyone of his ability.

Manchester United have tabled a bid for a midfielder to possibly replace Casemiro this summer, it has been reported, and have already heard back.
Casemiro linked with Man Utd exit
Two years after his arrival at Old Trafford, it appears that Casemiro is no longer required on the red side of Manchester. The Brazilian endured a tough end to the Premier League season, highlighted by a horror performance at Selhurst Park, and was urged to leave the club.
“I think Casemiro should know tonight that he should only have another three games left at the top level. The next two league games and the cup final, then he should be thinking, I need to go to the MLS or Saudi”, pundit Jamie Carragher told Monday Night Football.
United themselves are keen to see the back of him too, with the Red Devils reportedly open to offers for the Brazilian and keen to get his £350,000 a week wages off their books.
But it will mean that they need a replacement. Several options have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, with West Ham no.6 Edson Alvarez touted as a potential arrival in Manchester this summer, while Amadou Onana has also been mentioned.

That comes in the shape of Uruguay and PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who has fallen out of favour in Paris.
Signed just last summer, Ugarte still has four years left to run on his £100,000-a-week deal at the Parc des Princes, but Luis Enrique regularly overlooked him last season and he made just 21 Ligue 1 starts, while he saw just 23 minutes of action across the six Champions League knockout stage games his side were involved in.
He had been one of Europe’s top prospects during his time at Sporting, with Chelsea reportedly in the race to sign him before being gazumped by the Parisians. A key cog for Ruben Amorim’s side, he was described as a “destroyer in midfield who replaced Palhinha seamlessly” by football analyst Ben Mattinson on X, with the latter now seemingly on the verge of a move to Bayern Munich.
Now, Sky Sports report that the Red Devils “have an interest” in the Uruguayan as they look to replace Casemiro this summer, and that “he is one of a number of players they are looking at.”
L’Equipe go even further with the story, claiming that Manchester United have already made an offer for the 23-year-old, but that it was rejected as it “was considered insufficient by the leaders of PSG” to allow their midfield man to depart.
Having shelled out a reported £51m just 12 months ago for the midfielder, any bid to lure him away from Paris may likely have to be a substantial one so that the club can minimise their losses on a player who still could have the best of his career ahead of him.

Manchester United are interested in signing Ademola Lookman this summer, and are willing to put in an offer of €60 million (£50 million) to get him, according to reports in Italy.
Lookman enjoyed a spectacular season at Atalanta, including scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen. It was a triumph which saw La Dea win their first piece of continental silverware. This iconic display capped off a campaign in which the Nigerian winger netted 17 times and registered 10 assists across all competitions.
Inevitably, such a standout season has prompted a number of clubs to monitor the former Fulham man. While United are said to be keen on bringing Lookman to Old Trafford, they will face stiff competition for his signature, with Liverpool and Chelsea also understood to be willing to meet the asking price of €60 million.
United Pursuing Lookman
The Red Devils are on the hunt for forward reinforcements.
Having finished the season with a negative goal difference, a symptom of possessing a blunt attack that only scored 57 Premier League goals, Erik ten Hag will be eager to add more offensive firepower to his squad this summer. According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, via Sport Witness, United have identified Lookman as a potential solution to some of their issues in the final third, and are willing to splash the cash to land the 26-year-old.
While the purported €60 million asking price may appear excessive, Calciomercato suggest that Atalanta will only be considering ‘irrefutable’ offers for a player they deem pivotal to the success of their team. Having played in England’s top flight previously, Lookman would need little time to adapt to the pressures of the British domestic game, and thus United’s hierarchy may see the wide forward as one of the brighter options on the market.
Antony has flattered to deceive so far in a Red Devils shirt, while the future of Marcus Rashford is uncertain. The England international is ‘set for talks’ with Ten Hag, and has been the subject of interest from Arsenal.
For these reasons, Ten Hag could find his forward options depleted going into next season, so making a move on Lookman may become increasingly urgent. The south London-born man has previously impressed with Leicester and Fulham in the Premier League, with last season’s breakout displays finally capturing the eyes of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Described as being “world-class” and “unstoppable” after his display in the Europa League final, Lookman would add creativity, technical flair and goalscoring ability to a United frontline desperately in need of an injection of quality.
United Also Pursuing A Striker
Zirkzee has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
As well as an additional wide player, INEOS are looking to sign a central striker this summer, to provide competition for Rasmus Hojlund. A number of names have been suggested, with the likes of Ivan Toney and Alvaro Morata said to be in the frame, but Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee has been the most heavily mooted, with the striker understood to be in the ‘early stages’ of negotiating a move to Old Trafford.
Despite reports suggesting Zirkzee has agreed personal terms with AC Milan, United are pushing forward to sign the striker who scored 12 goals in 37 appearances last season. The former Bayern man has a £34 million release clause, and could be tempted by a proposal from one of England’s biggest clubs.
