While Jude Bellingham is playing at Euro 2024 with England, Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has not travelled with the England side, which has been the case for some time now.
Flashback to Euro 2020, Jude Bellingham did travel with the England squad but did not exactly have the minutes, and the responsibility, he does now with Gareth Southgate’s side.
He did however make history. He appeared in England’s Euro 2020 quarter-final defeat of Ukraine, making him the youngest player to feature in a Euro knockout game.
It was Jadon Sancho who featured more prominently. The Borussia Dortmund wonderkid was on top of the world, cementing himself as one of the game’s rising stars and tearing up the Bundesliga.

He then moved to Manchester United, and well, the rest is unfortunate history. He now is miles off the Three Lions squad and looks set to move away from Old Trafford this summer.
Saying this, he is still close with a lot of the side, including none more so than Bellingham, with the English duo linking up in Germany for Dortmund. Sancho has sent him a message whilst on Euros duty.

Manchester United have struck an agreement for the first signing of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era.

Apparently, Ten Hag called the Bologna star personally to convince his countryman to come to Old Trafford, with Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reporting via Sport Witness on the call and the club’s resistance in meeting Joorabchian’s demands.
FourFourTwo are reluctant to believe that a deal has been completed just yet, simply because no major outlet in Italy has reported on it – but it seems as if a lot of the terms and conditions of a potential transfer have already been reached.

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Joshua Zirkzee, with personal terms now agreed between the club and his representatives.
Zirkzee enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 campaign, scoring 11 Serie A goals for Bologna as they secured a place in next season’s Champions League. As a result of this form, the 23-year-old has been courted by a number of clubs in Europe, including the aforementioned United, as well as Arsenal and Chelsea.
According to Italian outlet Corriere Di Bologna, Zirkzee has now agreed to a move to Old Trafford, having held talks personally with manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman reportedly convinced the highly rated striker to make the switch, despite Rasmus Hojlund already being at the club.
Corriere Di Bologna suggest that the player has a £40 million release clause, which is expected to be triggered by Manchester United, thus meaning negotiations with Bologna will not be an issue.

The forward is likely to become the club’s first signing of the summer.
Developing through the Bayern Munich academy, Zirkzee spent his early years in senior football fighting to emerge underneath the shadows of the talismanic striker Robert Lewandowski. This assignment proved too difficult, as the young Dutchman left the German giants in 2022 for Bologna, having made just 17 appearances for Die Roten.
After a season of bedding in, Zirkzee exploded last campaign, leading the line for Italy’s surprise package and has been described as being “elite” by football analsyt Ben Mattinson. This superb year earned him a place in the Netherlands’ squad for the Euros, and has likely earned him a blockbuster move to United.
Once the Dutch national team’s tournament is over, United are expected to activate the player’s purported release clause and secure the signing. The Schiedam-born man will join the offensive cohort consisting of the likes of Hojlund and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford.
According to Corriere Di Bologna, Ten Hag held one-to-one conversations with his compatriot, and convinced him of the United project. The much maligned head coach guaranteed Zirkzee game time, suggesting that he’d share minutes with Hojlund, which was enough to convince the player to agree to the move.
Hojlund experienced a mixed first campaign at Old Trafford, showing glimpses of promise amongst inconsistency, with United players said to deliberately not pass to the player regularly at one point in the season.
The Dane managed 16 goals in all competitions, and had to play 43 games, garnering little rest due to Anthony Martial’s continued fitness issues. INEOS were reportedly keen on acquiring someone who can provide competition for and ease this burden on Hojlund, and Zirkzee may represent that player.

After a relatively impressive stint with Borussia Dortmund, one that saw him reach the final of the Champions League, the Englishman is not expected to return to Old Trafford to play, especially on the back of the news that Erik ten Hag would be staying.
The former England international, who has been capped 23 times, returned to the Bundesliga after locking horns with the Manchester United boss – in that time, he registered three goals and assists apiece in 21 outings.
Chelsea Turn Down Chance to Sign Sancho
Winger not ‘the right fit’ for the west Londoners.
Sancho’s public fallout with Ten Hag, one of many that the Dutchman has had to endure throughout his career, was seemingly the nail in the coffin for the fleet-footed winger, who had struggled to hit the heights expected of him.
Since his £73 million arrival in the summer of 2021, the Sancho of old – one that dazzled in the Bundesliga – was nowhere to be seen, and he’s now reached a crossroads.
Simon Phillips, writing in his Substack, suggested that Sancho’s agent has been reaching out to all manner of clubs – Chelsea included – to gauge interest in his the £195,000-a-week earner‘s signature this summer with a full return to Greater Manchester ‘near impossible’, Ben Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT.
The Blues, however, do not see the former Manchester City youth prospect – described as ‘phenomenal’ for his Champions League display against Paris Saint-Germain – as ‘the right fit’ for what they are trying to achieve in the coming weeks.
Interestingly, the west London-based outfit have historically held genuine interest in the winger’s services, but a dip in form has caused them to steer clear, though there is scope for Enzo Maresca and Co to pick up a wide man this summer.
Chelsea’s new transfer strategy revolves around signing the best young talent on offer, as showcased by their recent acquisition of Estevao Willian. According to The Athletic, Todd Boehly is keen to ignore those currently at the peak of their powers and, instead, invest in the future.
