United will pay just over £52m up front, and £6.5m in add-ons.

It was thought Real Madrid was the Frenchman’s preferred choice, but United worked hard to convince the 18-year-old to join as he was considered a priority signing.

Leny Yoro: Why Manchester United are splashing the cash on the ‘complete’ 18-year-old also wanted by Real Madrid

Sky Sports

United’s focus is now on other areas and potential departures.

Interest remains in PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte and dialogue remains open.

Any potential incomings are likely to depend on budget and squad space.

Interest in Casemiro from Saudi Arabia has cooled for now, while Fulham and Galatasaray remain keen on Scott McTominay.

United are yet to make a decision on whether to trigger the permanent option for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

And they are keeping an eye on Adrien Rabiot’s situation. They tried to sign the French international last summer – he is a free agent.

What will Yoro bring to Man Utd?

French football expert Jonathan Johnson told Sky Sports News:

“Yoro is a very complete defender for someone so young. Watching him in the flesh, he’s very, very impressive. He’s imposing, he’s good on the ball, he can use his frame to his advantage.

“He really does play like a veteran, the maturity he has is hugely impressive and he reads the game very well. He has a very complete profile and is arguably the best young defensive talent in Europe.

“This is a big upgrade for Manchester United in terms of building for the future. This could be one of the best transfer deals of the summer.”

Lille defender Yoro flying to UK for Man Utd medical

Latest from Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth:

Lille defender Leny Yoro is flying to the UK for a medical with Manchester United.

A deal worth a total of more than £50m was agreed between the clubs last week. It was thought Real Madrid was Yoro’s preference but United have been working to convince him to join.

Personal terms have been agreed in principle although there is still work to do as the deal is not fully done.

However, United are now optimistic they can get the move over the line.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt are players United still admire and remain options, subject to having the budget and squad space available as the window evolves.

Fulham consider new McTominay bid after £17m offer turned down

Sources have told Sky Sports that Manchester United rejected a bid worth £17m from Fulham earlier in the transfer window.

Tottenham’s Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg and Fluminense’s Andre are also options Fulham are looking at.

Fulham chase McTominay while Saudi clubs eye Casemiro

Latest from Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth:

Casemiro and Scott McTominay are the subject of interest from a number of clubs.

Fulham and Galatasaray are keen on McTominay, while Manchester United are expecting bids from Saudi Arabia for Casemiro.

While United are not actively looking to sell either player, serious offers are likely to be considered.

Against that backdrop, dialogue is open with Paris Saint-Germain over Manuel Ugarte.

Jadon Sancho’s future is unclear, despite his reintegration into the squad, with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund keen on the winger.

Facundo Pellistri could also leave after entering the final year of his contract.

United have already signed Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee, meaning further attacking arrivals are unlikely – unless players leave Old Trafford.

Man Utd in talks with Yoro after Lille accept bid

Latest from Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth:

Manchester United are in talks with Leny Yoro’s representatives over personal terms and the club’s project.

Yoro is not closing the door on a move to United and is very open to listening to what United have to say.

While it is thought Real Madrid would be Yoro’s dream move, they have yet to match United’s offer, which is worth over €50m (£41.9m).

Lille have accepted United’s bid but all options remain on the table, including Yoro staying at the Ligue 1 side for the final year of his contract.

While United work on a deal for Yoro, dialogue remains open with Bayern Munich over Matthijs de Ligt, although no agreement has been reached between the clubs.

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is still an option for United but there is no sign of Everton negotiating on their valuation.

Signing two central defenders is a possibility for United, with Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala having left the club. Further departures would increase that likelihood.

Man Utd give Greenwood permission to undergo Marseille medical

Marseille are edging closer to a deal to sign Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.

Personal terms have been agreed in principle and Greenwood has been given permission to undergo a medical.

Marseille and United agreed a deal worth €31.6m (£26.5m) earlier this week.

United also have a significant sell-on clause, thought to be between 40-50 per cent.

The final decision now rests with Greenwood. Lazio also bid for the forward but now appear to be moving onto other targets.

Lille ‘accept £52m Yoro bid off Man Utd’

The Guardian are reporting that Manchester United have had a €62m (£52m) offer for Leny Yoro accepted by Lille.

The report claims the centre-back must decide whether to accept the move, with Real Madrid also interested. United are negotiating personal terms with his representatives, it adds.

United deal is said to be for an initial €50m plus €12m of add-ons. Madrid are thought to value the 18-year-old lower and may be minded to wait until next summer when he is due to be a free agent, so the Ligue 1 club’s preference is for Yoro to join United.
