Manchester City are willing to loan out £48m player thhis season

Manchester City have seen several players move out of the club during the current summer transfer window.

 

 

Specifically, the Blues have seen Sergio Gomez, Liam Delap and Taylor Harwood-Bellis leave the club on permanent deals to join new sides.

 

City have also shown in previous transfer windows that they aren’t against loaning out certain players to other teams temporarily.

 

While they have loaned out young players such as James McAtee and Josh Wilson-Esbrand in an effort to give them regular game time elsewhere, the Blues have also loaned out more senior figures such as Joao Cancelo.

 

 

With that in mind, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding another player currently in Pep Guardiola’s squad who could be packing his bags before the window closes.

Man City likely to loan out Kalvin Phillips this summer

A recent report from The Athletic had this to say on the matter.

 

It said: “Kalvin Phillips has interest from Premier League clubs but a loan is most likely.”

 

 

The 28-year-old is currently part of City’s preseason squad training in America and could get some minutes in their upcoming friendly matches against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea.

 

Phillips needs to get his career back on track

 

Back in the 2022 summer transfer window, City paid £45m (via Sky Sports) to sign Phillips from Leeds United.

 

After only starting a handful of games in his first season-and-a-half at the Etihad Stadium, the Englishman was loaned out of West Ham United in the previous January transfer window.

 

Having only started three of the eight Premier League games he appeared in for the East London club, Hammer striker Michail Antonio said back in April that Phillips was struggling with a lack of confidence.

 

 

Moving forward, if the midfielder isn’t likely to be getting much game time at City next season, the best option for him would be to join another side where he would be playing regularly and get his career back on track.

 

From City’s point of view, they will have to decide what the best solution for them would be in regards to either loaning him out again or finding a club that would be willing to pay a suitable fee to sign the midfielder on apermanent basis.
