Manchester City are reported to have made an offer for a player who recently impressed former full-back Micah Richards.
City have only brought in one player so far this summer.
One week ago, the club finally announced the signing of Savinho from Troyes after months of speculation about the Brazilian.
But on the whole, it has been a very quiet summer so far and the feeling that City are only going to add new faces now if players leave first.
But over the last few weeks, there has been a fair bit of speculation about Dani Olmo, a player who really stood out at Euro 2024 with Spain. Now, one journalist has made quite a bold claim about the 26-year-old.

City were first linked with Olmo last summer, when it was claimed the club saw him as a potential long-term replacement for Bernardo Silva.
Bernardo ended up staying, and City seemingly never acted on their interest.
Over the last couple of months, there have been suggestions that City could move for Olmo again, and his performances at the Euros definitely added fuel to the fire.
Olmo finished as the joint-top scorer, and he wowed Micah Richards in Germany. Reacting to his goal in the semi-final against France, Richards said: “It was very tasty (the goal). Losing Pedri was obviously big for this side, but it’s how you react when you get into the team. He’s obviously a very good player, I’ve seen him play a lot, especially at Leipzig.
“It’s just his movement. Then it’s a touch, one, two can you finish? Absolutely.”
Speculation about City and Olmo had died down recently. Perhaps because he’d been mentioned as a possible replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. But it now looks as though the Belgian will be staying.

But journalist Santi Aouna has claimed on X tonight: “There is excitement around Dani Olmo. Manchester City has made an offer to secure the player’s services.
“At the same time, Barcelona is pushing and also wants to sign him. The player gives his preference to Barcelona. His agent has an appointment this weekend in Barcelona to discuss with management.
“Barça must first sell before they can recruit him.”
Olmo move still feels unlikely
So it is now being claimed City have made an offer for Olmo, after a few days of relative silence on the situation.
It has previously been suggested that some at boardroom level have reservations about Olmo’s injury record, so this is quite a big claim from Aouna.
Aouna does not offer any kind of figures. He just claims that City have now made an offer for the player, who is thought to be RB Leipzig’s top earner on around £153,000 per week.
Seemingly, his top choice would be to join Barcelona, which is the club he joined at the age of nine.
But everyone knows the financial problems Barca have, and it is never straightforward for them to sign players for big money.
We will see what happens. But Olmo has certainly proven himself over the last few years and he could potentially make a decent long-term De Bruyne replacement.
