Tottenham are looking at new players this summer and now could end up battling Manchester United for one of Europe’s most in-demand defenders.

Both Spurs and United have been active in the window already.

United have signed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, while Tottenham paid £40m for Archie Gray and brought Timo Werner back on loan.

However, a new full-back is on the agenda for both teams. Pedro Porro is the main man for Spurs, while United are seeking a new right-back, with talk of United signing Noussair Mazraoui ahead of West Ham picking up traction yesterday.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, while Mazraoui is a target for United, they are also keen on the long-time Tottenham target, Vanderson.

Speaking on his YouTube channel about the search for a new right-back at Old Trafford, Romano mentioned Noussair Mazraoui and Denzel Dumfries.

However, Romano also suggested that Monaco star, Vanderson, is also on the list.

“The third right back Manchester United could consider is the Brazilian right-back, Vanderson,” Romano said.

“He is considered at the moment probably too expensive because Monaco at the moment want an important money for Vanderson. But the Brazilian boy is on the list of many clubs.

“Tottenham have met his agents. Manchester United met his agents. So there is interest in Vanderson and it’s concrete, so let’s see what is going to happen on this situation.”

At around £30m, though, Vanderson requires a decent outlay from Spurs and with United clearly scouring the market, a deal could be tough to do.
