Manchester United agree a deal to sign Real Madrid transfer target
According to a report from Sky Sports, Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle with Lille OSC to sign Leny Yoro. It is believed that a bid of around €50m from Manchester United was accepted from Lille, meaning the Premier League side are now free to enter discussion with Leny Yoro over personal terms.
However, the personal terms could prove to be the limiting factor for Manchester United. As mentioned before, Leny Yoro is exclusively holding out for Real Madrid. If it were down to the player, he would move to the Spanish capital in a heartbeat. However, Real Madrid are yet to meet Lille’s demands, hence why Yoro remains a Lille player for the time being.
It goes to show the pull factor of Real Madrid that even with Manchester United at a more advanced stage, fans remain calm. After all, Leny Yoro is at the top of the Real Madrid shortlist, so this more often than not means Carlo Ancelotti will sign him.
It is worth noting that Leny Yoro runs out of contract in 2025, due to the rules of young players being limited in the amount of years they can sign their first professional contract. Therefore, Real Madrid’s transfer strategy is likely identical to that of Kylian Mbappe, remaining calm and signing Yoro when he is a free agent.
Leny Yoro is a defender who plays with plenty of maturity, despite his young age. He has experience of playing as the last man, so he has become finely attuned to one-on-one defensive situations. His factory setting, so to speak, is to be composed and outsmart his attacker out of possession but he has it in his locker to produce an aggressive tackle.
