DONE DEALS; Manchester United Manchester United has made a huge move to strengthen their defense by signing Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich, according to Evening Standard.

The Morocco international joins the Premier League side for a fee of £17.2 million, with £4.3 million of that amount tied to performance-based bonuses.

Mazraoui’s transfer is the second defensive acquisition for United from Bayern this summer, following the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt.

These moves are part of manager Erik ten Hag’s efforts to reinforce a key area of the squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Mazraoui’s arrival at Old Trafford will create competition for the right-back position, currently occupied by Diogo Dalot.

As a result, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has moved to West Ham United in a deal valued at £15 million.

Mazraoui first rose to prominence under Ten Hag during their time together at Ajax before moving to Bayern Munich in 2022, where he contributed to the team’s Bundesliga title in 2023.

On his new chapter, Mazraoui expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s an incredible feeling to be a Manchester United player, and I cannot wait to walk out at Old Trafford wearing the red shirt.

I know that I’m joining the club at an exciting time; everyone I’ve spoken to has the same ambition for us to win trophies together and I can feel the determination to achieve that.”

Man Utd may take advantage of swap deals involving Jadon Sancho to bolster Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible player-exchange deal involving Jadon Sancho. The winger is close to a departure from Old Trafford despite being reintegrated into Erik ten Hag’s first team.

However, United may want to explore their options if a swap deal for Sancho is a possibility. Express Sport looks at three clubs who might be persuaded to do business with United, as the Premier League side attempt to improve Ten Hag’s squad.

PSG – Manuel Ugarte

According to the Independent, United are in discussions with PSG over a loan deal for Sancho that would see the French champions sign the 24-year-old permanently next summer. Talks have reportedly included exploring how Manuel Ugarte could move to United as part of the deal.

Ugarte has long been linked with the Red Devils but INEOS have baulked at his full £51m asking price. But Ten Hag needs a defensive midfielder and United are now attempting to discuss an agreement that would see Sancho moving in the opposite direction.

Fenerbahce – Ferdi Kadioglu

Should talks with PSG come to a standstill, United should explore other swap-deal possibilities for Sancho. One of those could see INEOS fill another gap in Ten Hag’s squad.

United need a left-back with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia set to miss the start of the Premier League season. Ferdi Kadioglu would be an excellent addition at Old Trafford, able to play on both sides of the defence.

Fenerbahce’s new head coach is none other than Jose Mourinho. He was loosely linked with a deal for Sancho earlier in the summer, and United could take advantage of that interest if they want to sign Turkish star Kadioglu.

There remains the possibility that Sancho could return to Borussia Dortmund for a third spell. The England outcast enjoyed a period on loan at his former club in the second half of last season.

Dortmund cannot afford Sancho’s full asking price, so may be tempted to accept a player-swap deal. Former Arsenal prospect Donyell Malen would improve United’s attack and be yet another Dutch addition under Ten Hag.

Al-Ittihad – N’Golo Kante

It is a move that seems unlikely at this stage of his career but Sancho has previously been linked with the Saudi Pro League. The Public Investment Fund may be tempted to do a high-profile swap deal that sees them sign an elite star in his prime, in return for one of their ageing stars.

There are few better defensive midfielders playing in Saudi Arabia than N’Golo Kante, who is on the books of Al-Ittihad. The 33-year-old’s performances for France at Euro 2024 prove he can still compete at the top level.

Manchester United have dropped a hint about their upcoming summer transfer activity.

Manchester United appear to have ended their interest in Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan spent last season on loan at Old Trafford and was reportedly on United’s radar as an option to beef up their midfield if moves for other priority targets failed to materialise.

The Red Devils paid a whopping £8.5million to take Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina in 2023/24, with the expectation that they would eventually make the move permanent by activating a £21.4m option to buy.

However, the 27-year-old played a bit-part role under Erik ten Hag and was sent back to Italy. United are reportedly looking at Manuel Ugarte, Youssouf Fofana and Sander Berge as their primary midfield transfer options this summer.

There was also said to be a lingering interest in Amrabat, and the fact he remained a fixture in the first-team section of United’s website more than six weeks after his loan stint concluded stirred up rumours of him returning to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils had been prompt at removing other departees including Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Willy Kambwala, as well as adding newcomers to the senior squad such as Harry Amass, Toby Collyer and Ethan Wheatley.

The signing of Matthijs de Ligt, and the Dutchman taking Amrabat’s No 4 jersey, has finally seen United remove Amrabat from their official website, which could suggest that they have ruled out bringing him back before this month’s deadline.

Sporting director Dan Ashworth is believed to be advancing in negotiations for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ugarte. The Uruguayan’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been in the UK this week for a fresh round of talks.

Ugarte is reportedly keen on a move to Old Trafford and the deal could move quickly if United and PSG are able to agree on a price. The 23-year-old has only been in France for one season and the reigning Ligue 1 champions are intent on recouping the £51.5m they paid to Sporting Lisbon.

AS Monaco star Youssouf Fofana is also the subject of serious interest from United, but the French international is believed to have his heart set on a move to AC Milan, who are closing in on an agreement with the French side.

Ten Hag already has four major signings in place ahead of United’s Premier League opener against Fulham on Friday night, which comes after a narrow defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield.
