Man Utd ready to pay €42.7 million to immediately sign player now – report

Ugarte Uruguay

Manchester United will face Brighton in their next Premier League game and would ideally like to add another new signing before the fixture.

Reports have heavily linked Man Utd with Manuel Ugarte, who is an unwanted player at PSG and the French club are ready to offload him.

As per today’s printed edition of The Telegraph (news image provided below), the Ligue 1 champions have offered Ugarte on loan to Man Utd with an obligation to make the move permanent after this season.

The renowned British media outlet have mentioned that now, it is expected that the Uruguayan international will finally move to Old Trafford before the closure of the summer transfer window.

However, the 20-time English champions do not want a loan and would prefer to sign him on a permanent basis once and for all.

The Telegraph state Man Utd are prepared to pay £42.7million (50 million euros) to immediately sign Ugarte now but PSG are holding out for a fee of £51million, a sum that they paid Sporting CP to hire his services last summer.

For now, Casemiro remains the first choice play breaker in the United midfield. The Brazilian international had a season to forget last term. However, he has started the new campaign with strong performances against Manchester City and Fulham.

The Samba star, who has won the Champions League five times, is past his prime and sooner rather than later, Ten Hag must lure a long term replacement.

In such a scenario, 23-year-old Ugarte, who was brilliant for the national side at the Copa America, would be a top class signing for Man Utd.

We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds and will keep you updated.
