We are in business: Man Utd to offload 8 players with huge first option buy-back clauses
Manchester United negotiated a buyback clause in their agreement to transfer defender Will Fish to Cardiff City, according to Manchester World.
The 21-year-old completed his transfer to the Championship side on Friday and is eligible to play in their upcoming South Wales derby against Swansea City.
Earlier in the week, ManchesterWorld reported that Fish was undergoing a medical with Cardiff.
Both clubs have since confirmed the transfer, with Fish signing a contract extending until 2028.
United are receiving an initial fee of £1 million, with potential add-ons bringing the total to £3 million. Additionally, United has secured a buyback clause and a 30% sell-on clause.
This deal aligns with United’s new transfer approach, which aims to manage academy graduates more effectively.
Although the upfront fee may seem modest, the potential for future earnings through sell-on clauses or buyback options can significantly boost the deal’s value.
Fish, who made his senior debut under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a 17-year-old, has appeared only once for United.
His move to Cardiff is part of United’s broader summer plan which also saw the departures of Alvaro Fernandez to Benfica, Mason Greenwood to Marseille,
Willy Kambwala to Villarreal, Maxi Oyedele to Legia Warsaw, Facundo Pellistri to Panathinaikos, Donny van de Beek to Girona, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham.
Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo has been rewarded for his excellent start to the season.
Amad Diallo ended 2023/24 in excellent form, showing flashes of what he is capable of, suggesting he is ready to live up to his dazzling potential.
Straight away in pre-season, Amad showed he was ready to pick up where he left off, scoring two goals and impressing supporters.
At the weekend, Amad scored his first goal of the Premier League season in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat at Brighton.

Amad gets Ivory Coast call-up
Amad’s impressive form for Manchester United in recent weeks and months has now been rewarded at international level.
The Federation Ivoirienne de Football announced via Facebook their squad for their upcoming international matches.
Amad has been included, with the Manchester United winger earning his first Ivory Coast call-up since March 2021.
At this time he was playing for Manchester United, making his debut for the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
In July 2021, Amad was called up for the Ivory Coast under-23 squad at the Olympics in Tokyo. He then returned and got injured and missed out on a planned move to Feyenoord.
Amad then went on loan to Rangers in the second half of the 2021/22 season, before spending 2022/23 on loan at Sunderland.
Now re-established as a Manchester United regular, Amad has subsequently earned a call-up back to the Ivory Coast team for the first time in three years.
Amad has already scored for Ivory Coast
Amad has four international appearances to his name for the Ivory Coast, which includes one goal.
The Manchester United youngster scored a free-kick in stoppage time to earn Ivory Coast a 2-1 win over Burkina Faso, in just his second ever match.
Amad sent a message to Bruno Fernandes after the game, saying ‘you taught me’, while he received a congratulatory message from Didier Drogba.

Leny Yoro has suggested that he might return to Manchester United sooner than later, despite being sidelined for up to three months due to an injury sustained during the pre-season tour in the United States, according to Manchester Evening News.
The young French defender, who joined United from Lille in a record-breaking deal worth over £50 million, had only made two appearances before suffering a significant foot injury.
Yoro underwent surgery over two weeks ago and is expected to be out for eight to twelve weeks.
His absence, alongside that of Rasmus Hojlund, who also sustained an injury during the USA tour, has left Manchester United without two key players as the season begins.
Reflecting on his injury, Yoro shared on Instagram, “This is not the start I wanted, but that’s football… The operation went well. Thank you for your many messages of support. Now, time for patience and rehabilitation work. See you soon, stronger.”
In Yoro’s absence, United has had to rely on Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans in defense, while also signing Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich.
However, the center-backs struggled to secure a win against Brighton, with Joao Pedro scoring a late goal to clinch victory for the Seagulls.
Eager to return and support his team, Yoro is aiming for a comeback around early November, potentially during the second international break following United’s match against Leicester City.
Recently, Yoro shared a cryptic yet hopeful message on social media. Accompanied by an image of him walking out during a friendly against Rangers in July, Yoro simply posted a timer emoji.
While the message could indicate progress in his recovery, it also serves as a positive reminder for United fans that his return may be sooner than initially expected.
