Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ittihad are reportedly poised to make an attempt to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this summer.

No player highlighted the extent of United’s deterioration during the 2023/24 season more than Rashford. He managed just eight goals and five assists across all competitions, a far cry from the career-high 30 goals he plundered the campaign before, on his way to winning the club’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award.

It has been mentioned that Rashford is one of the squad members INEOS are open to offloading in the event that an enticing offer is made for him.

He’s not thought to be part of the untouchables group that includes the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Rashford is set to hold discussions with Ten Hag over his role in the team going forward.

Amidst all this, the England international has been linked to clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, who retain a long-term interest in him.

UtdDistrict have now revealed that Al-Ittihad also want to add Rashford to their ranks.

“Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad are “expected” to make a play for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford this summer, UtdDistrict understands.”

“UtdDistrict understands that Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad hold a significant interest in Rashford this summer, having recruited the likes of Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante in previous windows.”

“Sources with intimate knowledge of the situation have explained that although negotiations are yet to take place, the Middle Eastern outfit are “expected” to make an approach for the English winger soon. They see him as an ideal player to play alongside their other stars, such as Benzema and Kante.”

“Marcus Rashford is one of their “main targets”, but they have identified Atalanta and Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman as a backup option should they fail to procure Rashford. Lookman recently made headlines after scoring a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen during the 2024 Europa League final.”

The news outlet adds that at the moment, all signs point towards both Rashford and United wanting to continue together.

United players who are not currently on international duty with their respective countries are scheduled to return to Carrington on Monday, 8 July. Rashford falls in this category.
