Man City’s John Stones is convinced one thing must be really ‘frustrating’ for Erling Haaland on the pitch

John Stones has played alongside the likes of Erling Haaland and Sergio Aguero at Manchester City, which has likely improved his skills as a centre-back. Stones, who knows Haaland’s strengths and weaknesses well from training and playing with him, believes that the Norwegian international may get frustrated on the pitch when surrounded by multiple defenders. Despite facing close marking from opposition teams, Haaland continues to be a threat with his goal-scoring abilities, prompting Stones to suggest finding solutions to counter this tactic as a main goal for Pep Guardiola.

As teams try to stifle Haaland with multiple defenders to limit his impact, Guardiola should prioritize finding ways to create space for the prolific striker to exploit. Haaland’s movement, strength, and pace make him a formidable opponent for even the best defenders, but strategic adjustments from coaches like Guardiola could lead to greater success for Manchester City. By effectively countering tactics aimed at neutralizing Haaland, City could benefit significantly and enhance their chances of achieving victory.

Arsenal and Manchester City have seen their rivalry heat up in recent years, especially with the players out on the pitch.

There is still mutual respect between Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola because they are close friends, but there is no love lost between the players.

That was proven during Manchester City and Arsenal’s recent meeting, which ended in a 2-2 draw and a lot of talking points.

Some big hitters were missing for that match, with Martin Odegaard absent for Arsenal and Kevin de Bruyne unavailable for the other side.

Whilst Odegaard is still trying to climb the tree, it’s obvious to all that de Bruyne is one of the best midfielders to have graced English football.

So, for anyone to be compared to the Treble winner is pretty special, even if you are on the other side of the rivalry.

Jack Grealish certainly thinks there is an Arsenal player in the ranks who reminds him of de Bruyne.

The Manchester City star was doing a segment for the latest version of EA FC 25 and he was discussing the attribute ’speed’ with Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze.

The trio were tasked with ranking who is the quickest to the slowest out of the three, with Rice ranking himself the worst.

But Grealish tried to make the argument that isn’t the case by stating how Rice runs like de Bruyne with the ball, as he told England’s official YouTube account.

Jack Grealish says Declan Rice runs like Kevin de Bruyne with the ball

“It’s difficult because you cover the ground so well,” insisted Grealish. “When you drive, bro. You are so quick. You know who you remind me of, I swear, de Bruyne.”

Rice then starts laughing alongside Eze, with the Arsenal man adding: “I will take that.” Before Grealish then explained himself: “No, listen, what I mean is, Kev isn’t mad fast, but when he is running with the ball, he is so hard to catch. But then you would never look at him and say ‘he is absolutely rapid’.”

Declan Rice’s transformation at Arsenal

When Rice moved from West Ham United in a club-record transfer deal last summer, there was a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

Don’t forget that Guardiola wanted Rice at Manchester City, but Arsenal are now enjoying his magic.

There’s no doubt that Rice has transformed and gone up another level under Arteta, with many feeling he is the key to the team winning the Premier League title, especially with Rodri out for the rest of the season.
