I’ve made up my mind already four Man Utd players are leaving in January

Recent weeks have been a whirlwind of change for Manchester United, especially following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as head coach and the unexpected exit of sporting director Dan Ashworth.

These shifts are reshaping the transfer dynamics at Old Trafford just days ahead of the January window.

The club has entered a transformative phase. Even owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has candidly labeled the current state of Manchester United as “mediocre,” signaling a strong desire for improvement.

This urgency for change is evident in the team’s performance. Heading into the second half of the season, the Red Devils find themselves languishing in 13th place, with more losses than wins under their belt.

As the January transfer window approaches, several players could be on their way out.

Here’s a closer look at potential departures according to report from Footballtransfers:

Since Amorim took the reins, Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof has been conspicuously absent from the pitch. After sitting on the bench during the final match of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s interim spell, he hasn’t made the squad for any of the last five games.

While Amorim is likely still evaluating his roster, Lindelof seems to be a player with diminishing prospects under the new regime. A fresh start may be beckoning for the 30-year-old.

With his contract set to expire this summer, Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen’s time at Manchester United appears to be winding down.

Although he started in Amorim’s debut match against Ipswich, he has yet to see any action since then following his substitution in that game.

Amorim seeks a squad filled with energetic players, and Eriksen, with his more measured playing style, may not fit the bill. If the right offer arises, he could be on his way out.

The hefty €95 million investment in winger Antony raises questions about his adaptability in a potential shift to a wing-back role, which appears unlikely.

However, the 24-year-old seems ready to put in the effort as he adapts to new demands. Still, opportunities under Amorim seem limited; his only Premier League appearance this season came against Arsenal, and he has only played a more defensive role against Bodo/Glimt. The challenge lies in finding a suitor willing and able to meet his transfer fee.

Having joined Manchester United last summer, Dutch international Joshua Zirkzee is experiencing a difficult tenure. Despite netting a couple of goals against Everton recently, rumors suggest that Serie A’s Juventus is keen on him.

A return to Italy could be mutually beneficial, but this move is contingent upon United finding a satisfactory replacement.

Speculation surrounding Marcus Rashford’s future continues unabated, particularly with PSG rumored to be showing interest in the English forward. This season has been challenging for the 27-year-old, who, despite scoring seven goals, has struggled to find his best form.

Recently benched after a brief scoring burst, Rashford may not be the player to spearhead Amorim’s ambitious overhaul. Still, a mid-season transfer seems unlikely given his importance to the squad.

As the winter transfer window looms, Manchester United faces critical decisions that could reshape the team’s trajectory moving forward. The club’s leadership will need to navigate these waters carefully as they seek to reclaim their status among the elite.
