Marcus Rashford’s preference is to join a top club in La Liga if he leaves Manchester United, according to reports.
Earlier this week, Rashford gave a clear indication that he is intent on securing away from Old Trafford by admitting that he wants a ‘new challenge’.
‘When I leave it’s going to be, “no hard feelings”. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person,’ Rashford told Henry Winter.
‘If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person.
However, Rashford’s options are limited as very few clubs are able to afford his £325,000-a-week salary.

‘If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person.
‘When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.’

However, Rashford’s options are limited as very few clubs are able to afford his £325,000-a-week salary.
Paris Saint-German have been placed as early favourites to sign the 27-year-old, however, the French club have already passed up on two separate opportunities to sign him in recent years.
According to The Telegraph, Rashford’s preference would be to join either Barcelona or Real Madrid, however, the possibility of either club making a move appears to be remote as this stage.
Barca remain in a precarious situation with their finances, while Madrid are well-stocked in their attacking department and remain focused on getting the best out of summer signing Kylian Mbappe.
The report adds that Rashford will receive an offer to join the Saudi Pro League, with the division’s top-four clubs – Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli – all interested in a deal.
It’s understood that United would demand a fee of £40 million for the forward, who was left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad earlier this year.
In his response to Rashford’s frank views on his future at Old Trafford, United manager Ruben Amorim said on Wednesday: ‘This kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent.
‘He just needs to perform at the highest level. That is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.
‘What I want is to take the best of Marcus Rashford and the other players. I don’t talk about the future. I talk about the present.
‘I want to best of each of them. I just want to win and help the team to be better.
‘We are better with Marcus Rashford, that’s simple and we try our best to push Marcus Rashford to the level he is at before.’
