Harry Maguire returns to West Ham United as talks resume with Manchester Unite
Could Manchester United’s fortunes finally turn?
After a comeback win over Nottingham Forest eased concerns after two poor performances in a row, a crucial exit could be in sight.
The Sun reports that West Ham United have resumed talks with United over the transfer of Harry Maguire.
However, the report adds that they are “still a long way from closing the deal”.
The Hammers previously agreed a £30million transfer fee for the England centre-back but that move flopped in the player’s mind. Maguire reportedly demands hefty severance package to leave club as he accepts pay cut at West Ham
When negotiations resumed, Moyes’ club reportedly tried to find a way to pay a little more to ease United’s financial burden in the event of payments.
Maguire’s shares have fallen at United and he is among the players United are keen to continue in this transfer window.
However, paying Maguire to leave would put United in an unenviable financial position as the transfer fee isn’t that high anyway.

West Ham, on the other hand, will feel encouraged after a strong start to the season that secured them top spot in the Premier League after three games.
Moyes is said to be a big fan of Maguire and it would make sense for all parties to strike a deal while still in top form. United will receive extra money for a player who is not part of the manager’s plans, West Ham will give their manager his main target as a reward for his start to the season and the player can play a key role elsewhere and consolidate his international outlook.
