Sport EPL: Shocking Bernardo Silva names team that won’t win title this season
Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva, has ruled out the Premier League champions from the title race this season.
City have endured a shocking dip in form since October.
Pep Guardiola’s men have managed only two wins in their last 14 fixtures in all competitions.
It is a run that has seen nine defeats and three draws.
Going into the New Year, City sit in sixth place with 31 points after 19 games.
They also trail leaders Liverpool by a staggering 14 points, with the Reds having a game in hand.
I would say [the Premier League title is] not impossible because in football there are no impossibles, but right now, Man City is completely out of the title race.
“There’s no question about that. It’s too late for us.
“People always say that you don’t win a league until January but you can lose it, and this season the reality is we’ve lost it,” Silva told Sky Sports.

Pep Guardiola is eyeing up an £120 million triple transfer for Manchester City in the January window, according to reports.
City finally got back to winnings ways against Leicester City on 29 December, with goals from Savinho and Erling Haaland giving the champions just their second victory in the Premier League in 10 games.
The Blues are now sixth and just four points behind Chelsea going into a game against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
City are slowly getting players back from injuries after a whole lot of troubles but with an ageing squad, they are are expected to be active in the January transfer market.
A plethora of players have been mentioned as possible targets but it appears as though City have settled on three players who they feel can make a huge difference.
With a midfielder and forward huge priorities, Martin Blackburn of The Sun reports that City are weighing up a double deal for Atalanta’s Ederson and Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Brazilian midfielder Ederson has been identified as a perfect replacement for injured Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, whose absence due to an ACL injury has led to an almighty collapse from City.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form for Atalanta, who are currently top of Serie A under Gianpiero Gasperini. Meanwhile, Egyptian forward Marmoush has scored an impressive 18 goals in 24 games in all competitions for Frankfurt, who are third in the Bundesliga.
He has been heavily linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool, while Nottingham Forest tabled two unsuccessful bids to try and sign him in the summer.
Both players are valued around £50 million each and City are also reported to be keen on RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
The Uzbekistan international would cost around £20 million and according to the Manchester Evening News, City are keeping tabs and could fast-track a move after suffering a series of injuries to their backline.
Pep Guardiola unsure on January business
January is a difficult market to sign players and one which City have rarely dipped into in recent years, with the exception of the signing of Aymeric Laporte in 2018.
Guardiola has admitted he does not know if City will be bringing in new recruits.
“I don’t know right now,” he said in a press conference.
“It’s not easy, it will not be easy. Maybe we’ll sign, or maybe we don’t sign anyone. So I think the club has to be wise, don’t do it for doing it, just to add players.
“Of course for the situation that we have and from the perspective of the players that have had consistent injuries for many, many, many times, of course the club has to do it. But I don’t know if it will be possible…”
