They are worthless”: Sheikh Jassim withdrew from Man United purchase race because of five players who are the Club’s problems

Insiders have revealed Sheikh Jassim’s true feelings about his failed bid to buy Manchester United.

The Qatari banker, full name Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, withdrew from the race to purchase the Premier League club on Saturday night, according to multiple sources.

ESPN journalist Rob Dawson was the first to break the news, posting on X: “Sheikh Jassim and his Qatari consortium have withdrawn from the process to buy Man United.

“Sheikh Jassim and his team are not commenting officially but have informed the Glazers and Raine that they have withdrawn from the process.

“Negotiations have taken place in recent days and feeling is that the Glazers’ valuation of the club is unrealistic.”

Sheikh Jassim’s withdrawal leaves Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the sole remaining bidder for United.

Reports claim the British billionaire is ready to drastically alter his offer for United, potentially allowing the Glazers to remain in control of the club.

Sky News claim Ratcliffe is considering buying some of the Glazers’ shares floated on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), giving him a 25 per cent stake in United. That would ensure the Glazers remain in charge of the Premier League club.

Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan has now revealed new details about Sheikh Jassim’s failed bid including his personal opinion on the matter.

“It is thought that Jassim made an increased bid in the last few weeks but again failed to meet the Glazers’ valuation,” read Keegan’s report.

“That offer was thought to be around £5.5bn but still short of the £6bn the Americans are thought to want.”

His report went on to claim that Sheikh Jassim ‘held further and final discussions and negotiations over the last few days’ which proved unsuccessful.

“The Qatari believed he would have been the ‘dream owner’ according to those with knowledge of the situation, and is saddened by how it has played out,” added his report.

Sheikh Jassim is now being linked with bids for other clubs, with Tottenham and Inter Milan potential targets.
