Retired England star Wayne Rooney divorce his wife after signing Birmingham deal

Coleen Rooney reveals moment she told Wayne ‘I just can’t carry on’ and tells of strain of Wagatha leaks on marriage
COLEEN Rooney has revealed how close she came to ending her marriage over husband Wayne’s drunken antics with other women — telling him: “I just can’t carry on.”

The showdown, revealed in a new documentary, came after the footballer was caught driving home party girl Laura ¬Simpson after a boozy night out in 2017.
The judge found it likely that Becky had leaked stories about Colee
Wayne was three times over the legal limit and driving the car of a 29-year-old woman, Laura Simpson, whom he’d met in a local bar in Alderley Edge
The former England football hero had been pulled over by police after the boozy night out.

He was three times the limit and driving the car of Simpson, then 29, who he met in a bar.
Wayne, 37, recalls the fateful night in tell-all Disney+ documentary Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story — which was ¬previewed at Bafta in central -London last night.

He says: “You know, I’m driving another girl’s car and she’s in the passenger seat, it doesn’t look great. I know what it was but I also know what it looked like.
Yeah, she (Coleen) wasn’t happy, of course she wasn’t happy, but to be honest I can’t even remember speaking to the girl in the bar, never met her before in my life.

“So there was never any talk of anything happening, or going to happen.
“I knew Coleen was the girl you wanted to marry, to have kids with and spend the rest of my life with.
“To put myself in a position where I can almost throw that away is so silly and stupid of me and it’s not what I want at all.”

The three-part documentary charts how Coleen turned sleuth to accuse Rebekah Vardy of leaking private stories concerning herself and her family to the media.

The saga ended up at the High Court last year after Rebekah — the wife of Leicester striker Jamie Vardy — sued Coleen for libel, but lost.
The judge found it likely that she had leaked stories.

In the documentary, 37-year-old Coleen says the leaks fuelled her paranoia and sense of betrayal at a time when she was considering finally leaving Wayne after years of drunken infidelities.

She believes that the first leak — giving an insight into the state of the Rooneys’ marriage — came as she reeled from Wayne’s drink-driving arrest.
She explains: “It was just sickening. I’ve had that feeling in my stomach a few times and I’d never wish anyone to feel that.

“You do think, ‘Do I actually know this person?’ when things like that happen . . . you’re not the person I married and you’re not the person I want you to be.”
She adds: “Wayne wanted it all to go back to normal but it wasn’t as easy as that. I was still mad and I just didn’t know what the future was for us as a couple.

I said to him, ‘I just can’t carry on with this’.”
Coleen had been forgiving of Wayne’s wayward ways since they started dating as teenagers.

The 2017 incident was another example of him making big mistakes after hitting the booze.

In the documentary, she says: “Some mistakes are harder to forgive than others.
She posted a picture of herself with the kids in bed on her public Instagram, and one featuring Wayne and the kids in the bed.

This became the third leak, and the basis for another story.

Wayne recalls: “I said to Coleen, ‘Just delete it’. Social media’s not something which we necessarily need and she said, ‘No!’

“That’s the way she is — she’s quite stubborn, I think that’s something that I quite like about her as well.” Coleen says: “My private Instagram is what my friends do, it’s what my family do. I like seeing what they’re up to.”

She says: “Out of the three hundred and odd people, there was only one account that stood out and that was Rebekah Vardy’s.

“But I needed evidence, I needed to just gather my thoughts together. I had to think of some sort of trap.”
