Great news: Ohio State has secured a significant addition to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star tight end Nate Roberts from Washington High School in Oklahoma.

Roberts, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 235 pounds, is ranked as the No. 118 overall prospect and the No. 5 tight end in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Roberts’ commitment to the Buckeyes came on April 13, 2024, after decommitting from Notre Dame in August 2023. He chose Ohio State over other top programs, including Oklahoma and Oregon. His decision was heavily influenced by his strong relationship with Ohio State’s tight ends coach, Keenan Bailey. Roberts expressed his admiration for Coach Bailey’s energy and coaching style, stating, “Coach Bailey is what I want in a coach. We bonded together so easily.”

During his junior season at Washington High School, Roberts showcased his versatility by recording 38 receptions for 816 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 21.5 yards per catch. He has expressed a desire to excel both as a pass-catcher and blocker, aiming to be a well-rounded tight end for the Buckeyes.

Roberts’ commitment bolsters Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class, which now includes 12 commitments. His addition is expected to enhance the Buckeyes’ offensive capabilities, providing a dynamic option in both the passing and blocking schemes.
