Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud could be looking to reunite with a former Ohio State teammate in the 2025 NFL Draft.

After a stellar rookie season, Stroud has established himself as one of the NFL’s rising stars, leading the Texans to the playoffs and winning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Now, as Houston continues to build around him, the team could target one of the Buckeyes’ top draft prospects next year.

Two names that stand out are wide receiver Emeka Egbuka and running back TreVeyon Henderson. Egbuka, a dynamic playmaker, could provide another weapon alongside Nico Collins and Tank Dell, giving Stroud a familiar and reliable target. Henderson, meanwhile, is a versatile back who could bolster the Texans’ rushing attack, easing pressure on Stroud and complementing their offensive scheme.

Houston’s draft strategy will largely depend on how the 2024 season unfolds, but if they’re in a position to add more firepower, a Buckeye reunion could make perfect sense. Stroud’s connection with former Ohio State teammates could help accelerate their development in the NFL, much like Joe Burrow’s chemistry with Ja’Marr Chase in Cincinnati.

Texans GM Nick Caserio and head coach DeMeco Ryans will have plenty of options next April, but if they want to maximize Stroud’s potential, reuniting him with a familiar face from Columbus might be an ideal move.
