Mohamed Salah breaks Thierry Henry all time European record

Mohamed Salah scored the last goal as Liverpool thrashed Toulouse 5-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The strike saw the Egyptian break a record set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in 2006.

The other goals were from Diego Jota, Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez and Ryan Gravenberch.

Salah came on with around 20 minutes left and found the back of the net with a sublime strike in the 93rd minute.

It was his 43rd goal in major European competitions for the Reds, the most that has ever been scored by any player for an English club.

41 of those came in the Champions League, with the other two scored this season in the Europa League.

It surpasses Henry’s tally of 42 while at Arsenal – 35 in the Champions League and seven in the UEFA Cup.

It is yet another incredible record that Salah can add to his collection that includes: Most Champions League goals for an English club, Most goals scored in UEFA club competitions by an African player, and Liverpool’s all-time top goalscorer in the Premier League and Europe.
