Breaking: 5-star quarterback Dia Bell has committed to the Texas Longhorns, choosing them over prestigious programs like Alabama, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.

Bell, a standout at American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is renowned for his precision passing, mobility, and leadership on the field.

Standing at 6’2″ and weighing 200 pounds, Bell has demonstrated exceptional talent, completing 135 of 210 passes for 2,246 yards, 24 touchdowns, and adding three rushing scores over the past two seasons. His athletic prowess extends beyond the gridiron; as a freshman, he averaged 20.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and five assists per game in basketball. Notably, Bell is the son of former NBA player Raja Bell, indicating a strong athletic lineage.

Bell’s decision to join Texas is influenced by the vision presented by head coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee. He expressed enthusiasm about their offensive strategies and the program’s transition to the Southeastern Conference (SEC), stating, “I really enjoyed my visits and have developed great relationships with Coach Sark and Milwee. They are one of the best offenses in the country and have a track record of development at my position. I’m really excited about their move to the SEC and the opportunity to help bring a championship to the 40 acres.”

This commitment adds to Texas’ recent quarterback acquisitions, including Arch Manning, the nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning. Manning is set to take over as the Longhorns’ starting quarterback in the 2025 season, following Quinn Ewers’ declaration for the 2025 NFL Draft. Manning’s decision to remain with Texas, despite opportunities to transfer, underscores the program’s positive culture and development environment.

The addition of Bell signifies Texas’ commitment to securing top-tier talent and solidifying its future quarterback lineup. With both Manning and Bell in the fold, the Longhorns are poised for a resurgence, aiming to reestablish themselves as a dominant force in college football.
