He is becoming too sloppy and we have found a perfect replacement so he can leave – Pep Guardiola
Man City suffered a crucial blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four on Saturday (8 March) when they lost against Nottingham Forest, and fans pointed at Ederson as a reason for that.
The game finished 1-0 at the City Ground, with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s 82nd-minute goal being the difference maker between the two teams.
However, City fans called out Ederson for failing to stop Hudson-Odoi’s strike as it came to him at the near post.
Supporters felt that the Brazil international should have done better, with the defeat leaving City four points behind Forest in the Premier League table now.
City could drop out of the top four entirely if Chelsea are able to win their game this weekend, adding further pressure to Pep Guardiola’s men moving forward.
The defending Premier League champions bolstered their squad during the January transfer window, but further signings in the summer are expected to take place.

Man City are targeting a couple of promising goalkeepers
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has revealed he believes Diogo Costa and Joan Garcia are options for City to consider.
“Diogo Costa, 13 clean sheets, only conceded 19 goals playing for Porto, and he’s a top-class goalkeeper,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“And think the way that Pep plays, he’s very similar in the way that he wants to play out from the back, Costa is only 25 years old still.
“The problem that they’ve got with him is his contract is till 2027, there is a release fee, like Pete said about these Portuguese club, minimum release of 75 million euros.
“There’s a lot of clubs around the world, they won’t pay that for a goalkeeper.
“Manchester City’s financial situation, we know they’ve gone in heavy and probably a lot heavier than they wanted to in January because they didn’t recruit in the summer. So, somebody like Diogo Costa may be out of their reach, in all honesty, at that type of money.

“He’s clearly not happy with his goalkeepers because Ederson hasn’t been in great form, Ortega’s not been in great form, he’s rotated the two in and out of the side.
“There’s a lot of talk that Ederson’s going to go to the Saudi Pro League.
“Garcia, the other goalkeeper, Espanyol, he’s of an age 23 years old, that’s more of a gettable target if you like.
“These two are both very good young goalkeepers. They’re a great age as well but both of them are going to cost Manchester City but you’ve seen the importance and the importance of the goalkeeper’s role this season.
“How they play from the back and how they’re an integral part of the build-up play if you like and starting of the moves. Both of those goalkeepers we talked about could do that and both potential targets for Manchester City.”

Ederson’s Man City future is up in the air
Football Insider revealed that Ederson is open to leaving City in the summer transfer window to join a Saudi Pro League club.
There is a “strong possibility” that he will leave City at the end of this season, leaving Guardiola in the need to go and find another first-choice goalkeeper.
Football Insider confirmed that Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, and Al-Ittihad are all in the running for his signature when the season ends.
