Kevin De Bruyne would be keen on joining up with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami when he leaves Manchester City this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
City say goodbye to their midfield stalwart at the end of this season after De Bruyne confirmed his departure from the Etihad Stadium on social media, bringing an end to 10 trophy-laden years at the club.
Now, sources have told Football Insider that De Bruyne is being deluged with offers from teams all over the world as he prepares to make his next move, with staying in Europe still a possibility.
However, with De Bruyne now 33, Football Insider sources have said that the Belgian is thinking of a move abroad with the Saudi Pro League and MLS the front-runners, and the latter holds a unique appeal.

Lionel Messi link-up a possibility for Kevin De Bruyne
New MLS side San Diego FC’s interest in De Bruyne is no secret, but sources have told Football Insider that Inter Miami are also keen on the Belgian, giving him the chance to play alongside Messi this term.
De Bruyne would be interested in linking up with the Argentine as he makes the next step in his illustrious career away from the Etihad, and Inter Miami’s popularity would likely go through the roof as a result.

Messi and De Bruyne occupying the same attacking line may not be the best news for the other 29 MLS clubs, but two of the world’s best players alongside each other would be a great advert for the League itself.

MLS move on the cards after De Bruyne departure
City are loathe to lose De Bruyne despite his lessened impact for Pep Guardiola’s side, with Phil Foden seen as his hopeful successor and three other potential replacements lined up at the Etihad this summer.
De Bruyne making a move across the pond would be a major coup for the MLS amid the wave of players heading the other way for the riches of the Saudi Pro League, but it remains to be seen where he’ll head.
As a brand new franchise, MLS higher-ups would likely rather see San Diego win the race for De Bruyne over Inter Miami, who already have Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba on their books.
Miami adding the Belgian would arguably make the MLS a one-team league, and just as City are lining up targets to succeed De Bruyne, San Diego will see him as the perfect player to build themselves around.
Ilkay Gundogan feels Manchester City lost their passion this season.
City will finish the campaign without a trophy and are currently battling for a top four finish.
Gundogan returned to City last summer after a year away with Barcelona.
He reflected when speaking with ESPN: “I have the feeling that this year in many games we have given too much importance to tactics.
“We have paid less attention to our behavior. Having desire, determination and aggression is fundamental. These are simple aspects that are part of football.”
The German continued: “But maybe if you think too much about how to position yourself, you forget what should be ‘normal’. After the March break we improved a lot in this, in fact we managed to win in a comeback at Bournemouth.
“A lot of people now underestimate the importance of teamwork and having the right mentality, but we must always remain united.”
