Breaking: Jackson Arnold, the former five-star quarterback from Oklahoma, has officially transferred to Auburn University, marking a significant move within the SEC.

Despite interest from multiple programs, Arnold chose Auburn, where head coach Hugh Freeze has expressed immense enthusiasm about his fit within the Tigers’ offense. Freeze highlighted Arnold’s dual-threat capabilities and deep-ball accuracy, stating, “He’s a dual-threat guy who understands the RPO system extremely well and throws the deep ball extremely well” .

At Oklahoma, Arnold started the 2024 season, lost and then regained his starting spot, finishing with a 62.6 percent completion rate, 1,421 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also rushed for 444 yards and three touchdowns, including a standout performance against Alabama where he rushed for a career-high 131 yards .

Arnold’s decision to join Auburn comes as the Tigers aim to revitalize their program following a 5-7 season. With the departure of previous starting quarterback Payton Thorne and the addition of other key transfers like wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. from Georgia Tech, Auburn is positioning itself for a competitive 2025 season . Freeze emphasized Arnold’s potential impact, noting, “He’s going to create a swagger around our offense that draws people to want to play at a higher level” .

As Arnold integrates into Auburn’s system, expectations are high for him to become a central figure in the Tigers’ offensive strategy, bringing both talent and leadership to the

team.
