Manchester United Wants to Sign Sticker Rejected by Chelsea

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a summer approach for Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović, just months after Chelsea opted against signing the Serbian international.

According to Caught Offside, Juventus are considering offloading the 25-year-old forward due to his high salary and inconsistent displays. Although Vlahović has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season, his overall performances have not consistently impressed, leaving his future at the club uncertain.

With an asking price believed to exceed £47 million, Manchester United have emerged as the leading candidates to sign the forward. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle are also interested, setting the stage for fierce competition ahead of the transfer window.

Ironically, Chelsea—who previously turned down the chance to sign Vlahović—are now revisiting the possibility. However, their current valuation, along with that of Arsenal and Newcastle, is around £39 million, which falls below Juventus’ expectations. It is not yet clear whether any of the clubs will raise their bids.

Manchester United’s renewed focus on acquiring a striker is driven by the lack of consistency shown by Rasmus Højlund this season. New manager Ruben Amorim is eager to reshape the squad to fit his tactical philosophy, which demands a strong central striker capable of linking up play and scoring goals regularly.

Vlahović, known for his strength, height, and left-footed finishing, is seen as an ideal addition who brings qualities missing from United’s current strike force.

Though Juventus boss Igor Tudor is said to want to keep the Serbian forward, the club’s financial pressures and uncertainty over Champions League qualification may compel them to sell if United meet the valuation.

With a contract at Juventus valid until June 2026, Vlahović has not confirmed whether he plans to stay. A transfer to Old Trafford could give him a fresh start in the Premier League and provide United with the kind of marquee signing that reflects their ambition under Amorim’s guidance.

Manchester United are exploring a potential summer move for Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, as uncertainty grows around the club’s goalkeeping situation under new manager Ruben Amorim according to the Sun.

Despite arriving with high expectations in a £44 million move from Inter Milan, Andre Onana has endured a turbulent first season at Old Trafford. His inconsistent performances and high-profile mistakes have raised questions about his long-term suitability as United’s No.1.

The pressure mounted further following a pair of costly errors in the recent 2-2 Europa League draw against Lyon. In response, Amorim handed Altay Bayindir his full Premier League debut against Newcastle. However, the Turkish goalkeeper struggled, notably gifting Bruno Guimaraes a simple finish in a 4-1 defeat, further intensifying United’s goalkeeping dilemma.

With a crucial second leg against Lyon approaching, Amorim faces a selection headache. Meanwhile, United’s hierarchy has begun preparing for a potential change in goal, and Ramsdale has emerged as a serious candidate.

According to The Sun, United are closely monitoring Ramsdale’s situation following Southampton’s confirmed relegation to the Championship. The 26-year-old joined the Saints from Arsenal for £25 million last summer and has made 26 appearances this season.

Despite enduring four relegations in seven years, Ramsdale is valued for his Premier League experience and leadership. United view him as a reliable option to stabilize the position, but they’re not alone in their interest. West Ham, now managed by Graham Potter—who is reportedly an admirer—are also in the mix, along with several overseas clubs. However, Ramsdale is understood to favor staying in the Premier League to keep himself in contention for England selection.

Ramsdale is under contract at Southampton until 2028, meaning the club could still demand a significant fee despite their relegation.

In addition to Ramsdale, United have also shown interest in Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen. The 22-year-old Dutch international is another name under consideration, but Brighton are reluctant to sell and will reportedly demand over £34 million for his services.

Speaking after the loss to Newcastle, Amorim explained his decision to bench Onana. “Sometimes, a player needs to disconnect a little,” he told Sky Sports. “It was the right moment to take him out. He understood, even if he didn’t like it.”

With the summer window approaching, United’s search for a dependable presence between the posts is now firmly underway.
