On Monday, Ayla McDowell, the dynamic 5-foot-9 guard, announced her commitment to the Gamecocks, sending a clear message to the rest of the nation. Widely regarded as the No. 1 overall player in the 2025 class according to the Sportsmanship Composite Rankings, McDowell’s decision gives South Carolina yet another elite prospect to bolster its already loaded roster.
