🚨 Manchester United are expected to reignite their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder.

Carlos Baleba next year after failing to secure his signature during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old midfielder, widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s brightest young prospects, was on United’s radar as they sought to strengthen their midfield options. However, Brighton’s firm stance and high valuation meant that negotiations failed to progress, forcing the Red Devils to look elsewhere.

Baleba has emerged as a key figure for Brighton since arriving from Lille in 2023. Known for his ball-winning ability, physical presence, and progressive passing, the Cameroon-born midfielder has quickly attracted the attention of several top European clubs. Manchester United, who are undergoing a rebuilding process under Erik ten Hag, see him as a long-term solution in midfield — someone capable of adding both dynamism and defensive cover alongside the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro.

The failure to land Baleba in the summer has not discouraged United, with reports suggesting that the club will return with a fresh bid in 2025. Brighton, however, are expected to demand a significant fee, having tied the youngster down to a long-term contract and made it clear that they will only sell on their terms.

For United, the move could be crucial. With Casemiro entering the later stages of his career and ongoing uncertainty around the futures of players like Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen, adding a young, energetic midfielder has become a priority. Baleba’s profile fits perfectly with United’s vision of building a younger, more athletic squad capable of competing at the highest level.

If United can secure his services, it would represent a major coup and a statement of intent for the future.
