Five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham has flipped his commitment from Alabama to Ole Miss, surprising many in the college football community.

Cunningham, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound standout from Choctaw County High School in Ackerman, Mississippi, is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 16 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He initially committed to Alabama in July but changed course after attending Ole Miss’ impressive 28-10 victory over Georgia, where he was seen engaging with fans and soaking in the atmosphere.

Expressing his decision on social media with the phrase “Sip Made, Sip Stayed,” Cunningham emphasized his Mississippi roots and the appeal of playing for his home-state Rebels. His commitment bolsters an Ole Miss recruiting class that now includes several top in-state talents, such as cornerback Cortez Thomas and linebacker Jarcoby Hopson.

For Alabama, this marks a notable loss in their recruiting efforts. However, the Crimson Tide still maintain a strong class, featuring multiple five-star recruits like quarterback Keelon Russell and cornerback Dijon Lee.

Cunningham’s flip is a testament to Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin’s persistent recruiting and the program’s rising profile in the SEC. As signing day approaches, this development underscores the dynamic and competitive nature of college football recruiting.
