BREAKING: Gamecocks Make Top 4 for 4-Star 2026 Safety from Rock Hill
The South Carolina Gamecocks have landed in the top four for highly-touted 2026 safety prospect Jordan Wallace, a four-star talent out of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Wallace announced his finalists Tuesday afternoon, listing South Carolina alongside Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida State.
This development further cements Torrian Gray’s rising status as one of the nation’s elite recruiters. Gray, South Carolina’s defensive backs coach, has been a driving force behind the Gamecocks’ impressive secondary recruiting, and Wallace could be the next cornerstone of an already loaded 2026 class in the making.
Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing in at 190 pounds, Wallace is known for his explosive range, physical tackling, and high football IQ. His ability to cover ground and deliver punishing hits has drawn comparisons to several former SEC greats, and he’s widely regarded as one of the top safeties in the Southeast.
Sources close to Wallace say South Carolina’s persistence, family atmosphere, and Gray’s hands-on approach have positioned the Gamecocks as a legitimate contender to land his signature. “Coach Gray is a real one,” Wallace said in a recent interview. “He’s been straight with me since day one, and I can tell he believes in me not just as a player, but as a man.”
If the Gamecocks can seal the deal, Wallace would join an already promising 2026 group that includes several blue-chip defensive backs and could set a new standard for the program under Shane Beamer. With Gray at the helm, South Carolina’s secondary is looking like one of the SEC’s most exciting units on the recruiting trail.
Expect a decision from Wallace before the start of his senior season, with official visits scheduled for early summer.
Stay tuned.
