Former South Carolina women’s basketball standouts Te-Hina Paopao and Sania Feagin have officially secured spots on WNBA rosters, surviving the preseason cuts and continuing their journeys at the professional level.
Te-Hina Paopao, known for her sharp shooting and high basketball IQ, made the final roster for the Connecticut Sun. Paopao transferred to South Carolina from Oregon for her final college season, where she immediately became a key contributor for the Gamecocks. Her ability to stretch the floor with consistent three-point shooting and her poise as a floor general caught the attention of WNBA scouts. Through training camp and preseason, she impressed the Sun’s coaching staff with her maturity and smooth offensive game.
Sania Feagin, a versatile post player with size and agility, landed a roster spot with the Indiana Fever. Feagin played three seasons at South Carolina under head coach Dawn Staley, contributing off the bench as a reliable defender and rebounder. Though not always in the spotlight during her college career, her athleticism and work ethic have translated well to the professional level. In the Fever’s training camp, she showed flashes of her potential, providing energy, interior defense, and an improving offensive skill set.
Their accomplishments mark another proud moment for the South Carolina program, which has consistently developed talent for the next level. Under Staley’s leadership, the Gamecocks have become a powerhouse, and the presence of Paopao and Feagin on WNBA rosters further cements that legacy.
As they prepare for their rookie seasons, both players are poised to grow in their new roles. Whether it’s spacing the floor or bringing toughness in the paint, Paopao and Feagin are ready to make their mark in the league. Their perseverance through camp reflects not only their talent but their commitment to excellence.
