Arsenal are actively exploring alternatives to Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, with Juventus forward Dušan Vlahović emerging as a prominent target.
The Serbian international, who has netted 35 goals in 80 Serie A appearances since joining Juventus in 2022, is reportedly available for a reduced fee of around £25 million due to his contract expiring in 2026 and stalled renewal talks .
While Gyökeres remains a priority—having scored an impressive 53 goals in 51 games this season—his £86 million release clause poses a significant financial hurdle for Arsenal . Consequently, the club is considering more cost-effective options. Vlahović, previously linked with Arsenal before his move to Juventus, is now back on their radar as a viable alternative.
In addition to Vlahović, Arsenal have shown interest in other forwards. Brighton’s João Pedro has attracted attention, with Arsenal reportedly preparing a bid in the region of €55-65 million, although Brighton are holding out for at least €70 million . RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško is another name linked to the Gunners, offering a younger option with significant potential .
The pursuit of a new striker comes amid Arsenal’s need to bolster their attacking options, especially considering the inconsistent form and injury concerns surrounding current forwards like Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. Securing a reliable goal scorer is seen as a crucial step in Arsenal’s ambition to challenge for the Premier League title in the upcoming season.
