Man Utd Given Deadline For Mbeumo Plan B As CUT-PRICE Deal Confirmed

Manchester United are continuing their pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo but have also prepared a backup plan in case the transfer doesn’t materialize. The Red Devils remain confident of signing the 25-year-old Cameroon international, yet they are exploring alternatives, notably Fiorentina striker Moise Kean.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Kean has emerged as a potential target, and United would need to act swiftly if they want to land him, as a temporary €52 million release clause in his contract is set to expire in two weeks.

Kean, who has experience in the Premier League from his time at Everton, would be a more cost-effective option than Mbeumo. Brentford are demanding a steep €82 million for their star striker, while Kean’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €42 million. Despite struggling during his previous spell in England—scoring just two league goals for Everton—Kean’s familiarity with English football may still appeal to United’s management, especially as they attempt to balance transfer expenses with sales.

In terms of progress with Mbeumo, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that discussions between Manchester United and Brentford are advancing well. While there is no final agreement yet, negotiations are ongoing and the outlook remains positive for a potential deal.

Meanwhile, to support new signings financially, United are actively trying to offload several players. Tyrell Malacia, whose loan spell at PSV was not made permanent, has been added to the list of players up for sale. His persistent injury issues and declining form have caused his value to drop, and United are willing to let him go for well below his €12.2 million ETV. Alongside him, players such as Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Jadon Sancho are reportedly also on the chopping block, as manager Ruben Amorim reshapes the squad for the upcoming season.
