Man Utd Has Reportedly Submitted a €50m Bid to Sign a 29-year-old Spanish World Class Midfielder
Manchester United has reportedly submitted a €50 million (£43 million) bid to sign Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz from Paris Saint-Germain. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Red Devils are eager to reinforce their midfield this summer as part of a broader squad rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim.
So far, United’s only major acquisition has been Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha, who joined from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal. The club is also pushing to secure Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and continues to search for a top-tier centre-forward after struggling for goals last season.
Despite attacking reinforcements being a priority, United are equally focused on strengthening their midfield. The club’s directors have reportedly identified Fabian Ruiz as the ideal candidate to complement young star Kobbie Mainoo. They value Ruiz’s technical skills, passing range, and ability to contribute offensively from deep—qualities they believe can bring balance and leadership to the side.
Ruiz played a vital role in PSG’s recent successes, helping them win both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League. However, convincing the French champions to let him go won’t be straightforward. While it’s not entirely off the table, much will depend on PSG’s financial stance and Ruiz’s openness to a move.
Meanwhile, former United striker Teddy Sheringham has urged the club to bring in more quality players, expressing concern about the current state of the squad. He believes Cunha and Mbeumo alone won’t be enough and expects more transfer activity before the season begins.
Club captain Bruno Fernandes has opted to remain at Old Trafford despite lucrative interest from Saudi Arabia. Sheringham praised the midfielder’s loyalty, calling him the team’s standout player and emphasizing his importance to United’s future plans.
