SHARON OSBOURNE CONFIRMS OZZY’S TOURING DAYS ARE OVER: ‘HE’S DONE. WE’RE GOING HOME AND SHUTTING THE DOOR’.

 

0-1Sharon Osbourne has made it crystal-clear – Ozzy Osbourne’s touring days are behind him. In a solemn declaration following the monumental Black Sabbath “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, Sharon announced, “He’s done. We’re going home and shutting the door.”  

 

520-0The event marked Ozzy’s final ever live performance. At 76 and grappling with advanced Parkinson’s disease, he took the stage seated atop his iconic bat-themed throne for a five-song set, preceding a full Black Sabbath reunion alongside Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—the band’s original lineup performing together for the first time in 20 years  . 938-0The show drew a live audience of around 40,000, while millions more tuned in via livestream  .

 

1078-0Star-studded tributes amplified the spectacle: Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, Tool, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, and others performed. Special appearances and messages came from the likes of Jason Momoa, Steven Tyler, Dolly Parton, and Elton John  .

 

1416-0Following the concert, Sharon emphasized that all proceeds—reportedly totaling around £140 million—are being donated to Cure Parkinson’s Trust, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice  . 1694-0She also suggested there were tensions earlier in the planning, having removed a major act from the lineup for demanding payment, asserting the event was charitable—not profiteering  .

 

1911-0Ozzy’s health struggles have been well documented. In recent years he cancelled multiple world tours and public performances, and retired from touring duties in early 2023 after spinal injuries and Parkinson’s progression  .

 

Sharon’s firm statement caps a legendary era: “He’s done. We’re going home and shutting the door.” Ozzy will now retire to Buckinghamshire with Sharon, stepping away from professional touring—but his legacy in rock and heavy metal is

sealed forever.
