CHELSEA, MAN CITY STAY AWAY FROM EVERTON AFTER DEDUCTION OF 10 POINTS.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City and Chelsea are at risk of relegation from the Premier League. This follows Everton’s 10-point deduction on Friday, which set a strong precedent. The penalty saw the Toffees drop to second place in the table, although the club is considering an appeal.City face 115 alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules and Chelsea are under investigation over alleged payments linked to former owner Roman Abramovich. A lawyer who advised City, Stefan Borson, tweeted after the Everton news: “Without seeing the ruling/award, it seems harsh to me that 10 points for Everton is a direct breach of FFP [Financial Fair Play] .“But it reinforces the fact that the sanctions against City [if proven] and now against Chelsea [if charged and admitted for under-the-table payments] will potentially lead to relegation.”
