Manchester City Transfer Target Is Planning To Move To Saudi Arabia

Gabri Veiga, a transfer target for Manchester City and Liverpool, is reportedly planning to reject the Sky Blues in favor of joining Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, according to a tweet from journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The following is what Romano tweeted: “Gabri Veiga to Al Ahli, here we go! Celta accepted the bid, and the player concurred. Coach Jaissle was essential in getting Veiga to agree. Al Ahli reveal their top secret target. Saudi Arabia wants to invest in the top talent in the world, and they recently acquired Gabri Veiga.

Toni Kroos of Real Madrid expressed his displeasure with the transfer by writing the word “Embarrassing” as a comment on Romano’s Instagram post when he announced the agreement.

How does Gabri Veiga think he would have fit into the Manchester City team?

Veiga probably would not have played a ton of first team games if he had decided to sign with Manchester City rather than Al Ahli because Pep Guardiola frequently signs young players from Europe but does not always integrate them into the senior squad right away.

Veiga, an offensive midfielder by trade, would have likely undergone retraining to become a central midfielder; in that position, he may have served as Kevin De Bruyne’s backup.

One defensive midfielder and two central midfielders make up Guardiola’s preferred midfield three. Veiga might not have been the Citizens’ finest choice after all.

What other elite athletes have made the decision to join Saudi Arabia during the transfer window?

A number of elite players from around Europe started moving to the Middle East during the 2023 summer transfer window, which has been a true turning point for the Saudi Pro League.

Younger players have also started to transfer there, joining established superstars like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Edouard Mendy who have all already made the switch. Veiga is therefore by no means an exception at this point.

It appears that Jota, Roger Ibanez, and Allan Saint-Maximin, who have all yet to reach their footballing primes, will do so in Saudi Arabia as a result of their high-profile transfers to the Saudi Pro League during the current transfer window.
