🚨 RB Leipzig request Rasmus Højlund in Benjamin Šeško talks.

RB Leipzig have reportedly asked for Rasmus Højlund to be included in negotiations with Manchester United over a potential deal for Benjamin Šeško.

United have maintained strong interest in Šeško for over a year, and with the Slovenian striker impressing in the Bundesliga and deciding to stay an additional season at Leipzig, the Red Devils are now attempting to revisit the deal before the end of the transfer window.

According to sources close to the negotiations, Leipzig are open to selling Šeško, but only if Højlund is included either on loan or as part of a swap deal. The German club are long-time admirers of the Danish forward, who joined United last summer in a high-profile €75 million move from Atalanta.

Højlund had an up-and-down first season at Old Trafford, scoring 16 goals in all competitions but struggling with consistency amid United’s wider attacking issues. Despite that, Erik ten Hag remains keen on keeping the 21-year-old, who is seen as a long-term No.9 for the club.

Leipzig, however, see Højlund as a perfect replacement for Šeško, matching their profile of young, high-potential forwards. The Bundesliga side believe a fresh environment could help Højlund rediscover his scoring form.

United are said to be reluctant to include Højlund in any deal, though they may consider a short-term loan if it significantly reduces Šeško’s asking price. With the Premier League season fast approaching, United face a critical decision on whether to go all-in for Šeško — even if it risks losing Højlund in the short term.

Negotiations remain ongoing, with both clubs hopeful of finding a creative solution in the coming days.
