Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Martinelli have spoken about the importance of the home support for Sunday’s game at Emirates Stadium.
We host Manchester United for the 4.30pm kick-off in the Premier League.
“It’s always a tough game,” Gabriel said. “We’re expecting a tough game and we’re ready for it. We’ve been working hard and are going to try our best, playing at home with our fans, to win the game.”
“It’s a big rivalry because we know these are two big teams and we want to win of course because we play at home in front of our fans,” Fabio added. “It’s always a big game, a tough game. Everyone knows their qualities but we have our qualities. We play at home and we need to go for the three points.”
Gabriel could be coming up against fellow Brazilian Antony on Sunday, while Fabio will see familiar faces from Portugal like Bruno Fernandes.
“It’s always nice to play against the Brazilian players,” Gabriel said. “To be fair, we have a lot this season. It’s so good to go to the games and know there is going to be someone you know from your country. It’s so nice to have the Brazilian players here. It’s going to be a very good game and I wish Antony all the best, but I want to win the game.”
“I know them very well from Portugal of course, where I played against them,” Fabio added. “I played with Diogo [Dalot] in Porto. It will be a good game against a good team but, as I said before, we play at home and of course, after the game we can swap shirts, but in the game I want to win.”
