Sources: Newcastle United terminate Joe White deal as Stockport County move agreed
Newcastle United are terminating midfielder Joe White’s Crewe Alexandra loan for him to join Stockport County for the second half of the 2023-24 campaign, sources have told Football Insider.
White, 21, joined Crewe on a six-month loan deal in the summer transfer window and the attacking midfielder has impressed for the Railwaymen.
League Two leaders Stockport have moved to agree a deal with Newcastle to take White on loan for the second half of the season.
We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of classy Newcastle United midfielder Joe White.

He will link up with his new club as soon as the transfer window opens on 1st January.
The midfielder has made 20 appearances for Crewe so far this season, notching two goals and three assists.
He joined the Cheshire outfit on the penultimate day of the summer window but is now set for another EFL move.
White predominately plays as a central midfielder but can also play on both flanks and in more advanced central roles.
The former England Under-18 international has also had loan spells at Exeter and Hartlepool since making his senior breakthrough.
Despite featuring prominently for Newcastle at youth level, White is yet to make his first-team debut for the Magpies.
He signed a new three-year deal at St James’ Park last year (2022), keeping him on Tyneside until the summer of 2022.
White was named on the bench for Newcastle in Premier League games against Man United and Man City in the 2021-22 campaign.
He is one of several players, including Harrison Ashby and Kell Watts, to be loaned out by the Magpies to gain first-team experience this term.
Crewe sit fifth in League Two but are 12 points behind league leaders Stockport – who are poised to steal White away from their promotion rivals.

In a response to a viral video, the Nigeria Police Force has dismissed two constabularies, Jimoh Lukman and Kareem Fatai, for extorting money from a Dutch tourist.
The officers, caught on camera demanding bribes, were arrested, stripped of their uniforms, and publicly paraded on Thursday in Oyo State.

Briefing newsmen at the Oyo Police Command’s Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Adebola Hamzat, said the constabularies extorted a tourist from Netherland, Ms Noraly Schoenmaker.
Hamzat said that the incident happened on October 23 along Moniya-Iseyin road.
According to him, the dismissed constabularies deliberately defied numerous orders and directives against professional misconduct, extortion, incivilities to members of the public and corruption.
“We have always been warning you against extortion. We have been warning you that this administration has zero tolerance for corruption.
“That is the stand of the Inspector General of Police and my stand as the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State.
“You are very aware that we don’t condone corruption and don’t want the Command to be given a bad name,” he said.
Hamzat said the incident of extortion by the constabularies was captured on live streaming and was televised worldwide.
The CP said that the incident had brought international disgrace to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
“I want to tell you that the NPF have served in many parts of the world and have not been found wanting of extortion and corruption allegations,” he said.
The CP warned other officers to be satisfied with what they earn as salaries and not tarnish the image of the force by extorting money from motorists.
“I wish to inform the residents of Oyo State and by extension the public that Special Constabularies Kareem Fatai and Jimoh Lukmon have been dismissed in furtherance of the completion of their orderly room trials.
“This action is to serve as deterrence to other officers with a similar disposition,” Hamzat said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, described the report as false.
According to him, “This allegation is false and unfounded. It is purely an act of mischief and disinformation meant to sabotage the police’s unwavering commitment to rid Enugu State of unrepentant criminals. It is also aimed at pitting the police against the good people of the state in this yuletide.
“Consequently, the Enugu State Command urges all and sundry to disregard this manner of falsehood and disinformation while encouraging the accuser(s) to come forward with proof of such allegations for necessary disciplinary action.”

Nigerian artist, Dapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo, has been absolved of allegations relating to rape and N-Power fraud by both the Nigeria Police Force and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Documents obtained by Punch on Friday revealed that both the police and the anti-graft agency concluded separate investigations, exonerating the artist.

An affidavit presented by Toheeb Lawal of Law Corridor, a law firm based in Abuja, before the District Court of Abuja, said the reports clearing the singer were submitted as exhibits A and B.
In 2020, D’banj was accused of rape, which eventually led the Inspector General of Police to order an investigation into the allegation.
The police report, dated November 14, 2023, with case number CR:3000/X/FHQ/ABJ/SEB/T.1/VOL 18/284, signed by ACP YY Abubakar of the Special Enquiry Bureau at the Force Criminal Investigations Department, said there were insufficient evidence to substantiate the claims made against D’banj.
It said, “The complainant, witnesses, and suspects made their statement. The investigation was extended to the Glee Hotel Lagos, where the staff on duty on the date of the alleged incident made their statement.

“The management and staff of the Glee Hotel averred that the first suspect was not seen in the hotel on the date of the alleged incident, nor was he given a spare key to gain access to any room in the hotel where the complainant lodged, and they have only one key to each room, which completely debunked the allegation of the complainant.
“The management of the hotel also held that it had no record to show that the complainant checked into the hotel as a guest on the alleged date, and she did not, at any time, raise an alarm, complain, or report any indecent assault or rape.”
It added, “There is no medical report on the victim to ascertain that she was raped. There are no adduced facts or corroborative evidence to substantiate the allegation of rape against the suspect. Prima facie offences of indecent assault, rape, and intimidation are not made out.
“However, the complainant, through her counsel, Ojoge, Omileye & Partners, submitted a later, dated July 17, 2020, to the DIG Force CID, to voluntarily withdraw the petition and discontinue the investigation.”
Meanwhile, the ICPC also affirmed that there was no evidence or basis to incriminate the singer regarding any fraudulent activities associated with the N-Power programme.

The clarification from the ICPC, dated November 29, 2023, and identified with document number ICPC/OPS/SDD/SPT.LG/31/23, stated, “The commission investigated issues of fraud in the administration of the N-POWER Scheme, where Mr Daniel Oladapo Oyebanjo’s name came up. However, there was no prima facie case of fraud against him.
“Kindly be advised that Mr Daniel Oladapo Oyebanjo is not under investigation with the Commission for any fraud-related offence,” the ICPC clearance partly read.
