Manchester City now leading race to sign £30m Real Madrid target compared to Vinicius Jr

Manchester City are now leading the race to sign Savio ahead of Real Madrid.

That is according to the Daily Star.

So, what is the situation involving Savio and Manchester City? Let’s take a look…

Manchester City lead race to sign Savio

Well, the Brazilian sensation is currently part of the City Football Group.

Savio – who is owned by one City Football Group side in Troyes – currently finds himself on loan at another club under the City Football Group umbrella in Girona.

The Daily Star believe the South American’s efforts in Spain have caught the eye of Pep Guardiola, and Manchester City are now poised to bring the winger to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

It is also said that Manchester City will only need to pay £10m for Savio – whereas any other European side hoping to sign the attacker would have to spend three times that amount.

The Daily Star describe this development as a blow to Real Madrid, who actually view the 19-year-old as someone who could follow in the footsteps of Vinicius Junior.

Savio has scored five goals while also providing seven assists across 21 appearances in La Liga this season, as Girona surprisingly sit top of the table.

Savio wants Manchester City move

Interestingly, the teenager has already spoken about his desire to play for Manchester City.

Savio told MARCA: “The City Group is a very good project. The City Group’s project is first class, and I hope that if I do well, Manchester City will want me.”

As things stand, Savio looks set to get his wish – having performed very impressively in Spain.

Barcelona are another European giant who have been credited with a desire to sign the Brazilian wonderkid, so Xavi and Carlo Ancelotti both look set to be disappointed.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, with Manchester City expected to sign Savio.
