Three clubs launch ‘firm offer’s’ for Manchester City midfielder

Manchester City are currently considering their options for Kian Breckin, a highly-rated academy talent, as they have received three ‘firm offers’ for the player this month.

The Manchester-born attacking midfielder was recalled from a season-long loan move to Wycombe Wanderers earlier this month due to a severe lack of on-field opportunities and some concerns over his treatment, according to one source.

During his time at Wycombe, Breckin only made nine appearances across all competitions, including just two in League Two action. As a result, Manchester City took immediate action to resolve the situation, recalling him from his loan spell.

A statement on Wycombe’s official website confirmed Breckin’s return to Manchester City, ending his loan spell at Adams Park.

Now, according to Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’, the reigning Premier League champions have received ‘firm loan offers’ for Breckin from Stockport County, Notts County, and Crewe Alexandra.

City officials are currently assessing the best destination for the 20-year-old in terms of playing time and will make a decision in the next couple of days.

These discussions coincide with Manchester City’s pursuit of attacking midfield talent Claudio Echeverri, who will join the club in January 2025.

The agreement with River Plate was confirmed on Thursday afternoon, with Echeverri signing a deal with Manchester City until the summer of 2028, remaining on loan with River Plate until the end of the calendar year.

Outgoing official Omar Berrada, who has taken up the position of CEO at Manchester United, played a key role in talks over the signing of Echeverri alongside Txiki Begiristain at Manchester City in what will be his final piece of business at the club.
