Jack Grealish sends message to £45m Manchester City player after announcement

Manchester City No.10 Jack Grealish has sent a message to Kalvin Phillips after the England international sealed a loan move to West Ham.

The 28-year-old wrote the message on Instagram.

So, what did Jack Grealish send to Kalvin Phillips? Let’s take a look…

Well, the £45m man has now joined West Ham on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

West Ham actually negotiated an option to buy Phillips in a £34m permanent deal this summer – according to Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany – so the Yorkshireman may have already played his final game for Manchester City.

After hearing that his fellow England international had left for the London Stadium, Grealish wrote: “What a boy! Gonna miss you 😢 Good luck brother”.

Declan Rice also sent Phillips a message, with the Arsenal No.41 writing: “Smash it brother! Buzzing for you❤️”.

Even Jude Bellingham got involved in wishing the Leeds-born maestro well at West Ham.

The Real Madrid No.5 wrote “let’s go brother ❤️” as the likes of Phil Foden, Aymeric Laporte, Nathan Ake and Kyle Walker also paid tribute to Phillips.

Kalvin Phillips likely to leave Manchester City permanently

In our view, Phillips will shine alongside James Ward-Prowse in east London, and we believe West Ham are highly likely to trigger the £34m option to buy.

The 28-year-old seems to be exactly what David Moyes needs right now after losing Rice to Arsenal last summer, and with UEFA Europa League football on the schedule, Phillips should get plenty of chances to showcase his obvious talents.

We would be very surprised if West Ham end up ignoring the £34m option to buy – in all honesty.

Hopefully, Phillips does well for the Hammers, and can remain injury free during his six months on loan in east London.
