Manchester City receive £176 million cash boost following confirmed 2022/23 figures
Manchester City, the reigning champions of the Premier League, have received a hefty sum of £176.2 million in prize money for their success in the English top-flight last season. According to The Telegraph’s James Ducker, Manchester City’s earnings of £176.2 million for their Premier League title win last season exceeded those of second-placed Arsenal, who received £172.2 million. Meanwhile, Manchester United, who finished third in the division, received £168.3 million, and Southampton, who finished at the bottom of the division, earned £103.6 million.
As City are currently engaged in a closely fought Premier League title race this season, they face competition from Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Aston Villa heading into the second half of the campaign. The team is also set to play a challenging FA Cup fifth-round tie away at Luton Town this month, as well as the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against FC Copenhagen.

Although there were rumors of a move for Kimmich in the recent January market, a new report from The Athletic suggests that sources at Manchester City downplayed the idea of a move in January but indicated that a summer move is a possibility.
According to The Athletic’s Sam Lee, a summer move for Kimmich is seen as “a different matter” compared to another potential target, City Group talent Savio.
While a deal for Kimmich is considered a “difficult operation,” it is clear that the 28-year-old Germany international is an option that Manchester City is exploring.
Joshua Kimmich has praised his former manager, Pep Guardiola, for developing his game and progressing him through Bayern Munich’s ranks during Guardiola’s time in Germany.
