“I’ve never seen a better team “- Pep Guardiola sends strong warning to Man City squad ahead of upcoming Clash

Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has warned his players ahead of their upcoming match with Brentford.

The Premier League champions are currently just two points behind Liverpool at the top of the division, with a game in hand that could have a significant impact on their title challenge.

In their recent match against Brentford, Phil Foden’s hat-trick secured a victory for Manchester City after Brentford’s Neal Maupay opened the scoring. Despite the win, Guardiola acknowledged the challenges they faced and praised Brentford’s style of play and individual players.

Guardiola emphasized the difficulties Manchester City will face when they play Brentford again in a few weeks, stating, “They’re so difficult, they’re an incredible team. We can just imagine how difficult it will be in a few weeks when we come back to the Etihad for our game in hand.”

The Catalan coach also commended Brentford for their prowess in set-pieces, corners, free-kicks, and throw-ins, describing them as the best team he has ever seen in those situations.

“A really tough opponent – I never saw a team in the set-pieces, corners, free-kicks, throw-ins. I’ve never seen a better team than this one. I think we deserve it, but I think we were lucky to score too on the verge of half-time.”

Manchester City will face three matches across two competitions before their next meeting with Brentford, including a return to UEFA Champions League action.

They will play against Everton in the Premier League, FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League, and Chelsea before their rematch with Brentford in the Premier League.

The rematch with Brentford was originally scheduled for December but was postponed due to Manchester City’s Club World Cup commitments. The upcoming match is set to be an important fixture for the reigning Premier League champions.

Overall, Guardiola’s stern warning to his players highlights the challenges they will face in the upcoming matches and emphasizes the importance of maintaining their form to stay competitive at the top of the league table.
