Unbelievable Gary Neville predicts Pep Guardiola is likely to leave Manchester City in the near future.

Former Manchester United player, Gary Neville, stated his belief that Pep Guardiola is likely to leave Manchester City in the near future.

Manchester City, which claimed a historic treble last season, is once again on the trophy hunt and remains strong in the Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League.

Neville expressed his hope that Guardiola’s stint at the Etihad Stadium will not last much longer, stating, “I can’t believe Pep is going to hang around for more than 12 months or so. I can’t believe he is going to be there for another two, three or four years. I can’t believe he is going to be there for more than another 18 months.”

Being a United supporter, Neville’s desire to see Guardiola leave City is not surprising. Speculation about Guardiola’s departure raises concerns about how the club will replace such an influential figure.

Although City is a well-managed club, the loss of Guardiola will undoubtedly impact them. Guardiola’s contract runs until the summer of 2025, so his departure is still uncertain.

Guardiola may see his time as manager as tiring, considering it will be nine years by then, and recent comments suggest he may believe it’s time for a break.

However, he has also built a strong legacy at City, and the club has been tailored for his success. Whether he stays or leaves, it remains to be seen.

As this situation unfolds, only time will tell if Neville’s hope of Guardiola’s departure will come true. While Guardiola’s departure is still uncertain, speculation and opinions about the matter continue to surface.

Despite Guardiola’s significant influence, the future of Manchester City remains unclear as they navigate the possibility of a change in leadership.

‘He was that kind of player’… Gary Lineker says Man City have someone who plays exactly like Pep Guardiola did

Gary Lineker has said that Manchester City midfielder Rodri plays in a similar way that Pep Guardiola did during his playing career.

The midfielder is currently in the middle of his fifth season at the Manchester club and on the hunt to regain the three trophies he helped them win last term.

Having completed the full 90 minutes in City’s recent Champions League match against Copenhagen, the 27-year-old quickly found himself on the end of some significant praise from Lineker, who even compared him to a former midfield player who has a big connection to the Manchester club.

Speaking in a recent edition of The Rest Is Football, Lineker had this to say about Rodri.

He said: “Just a perfect holding-midfield player. He’s brilliant off the ball, exceptional on the ball, he just manages everything on the field, probably like Pep did when he played, he was that kind of player as well.”

During his playing days at Barcelona, Guardiola racked up 384 senior appearances for the Spanish club, scoring 11 goals and providing 52 assists.

In terms of what his playing style was like, Jordi Cruyff had this to say about the former midfielder.

He said: “Guardiola was a master of angles; he was very good in playing in two touches; control with the left, passing and trying to find players between the lines. He always had a vertical pass.”

Then with Rodri having made more progressive passes (206) than any other City player in the Premier League this season, this highlights one area where the two Spaniards mirror each other in terms of their style of play.

With Rodri starting all of the 30 games he’s played this season, this highlights how important he is for Guardiola, who could well see the similarities between how he used to play and how the current midfielder now goes about his business on the pitch for the Citizens.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that two members of his first-team squad will not be available for Manchester City’s match against Chelsea this weekend.

Manchester City has the opportunity to move into the position of outright Premier League leaders by securing two successive wins, with a game in hand against Brentford coming next week. City is currently on a run of 11 successive wins across all competitions.

Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne have returned from injury and have provided a boost to the team, but Guardiola and his coaching staff have been hit by a fresh wave of fitness concerns this week due to injuries sustained during training and in first-team action in European competition.

Guardiola confirmed that Jack Grealish will be ruled out for the weekend as he is unsure of his rehabilitation period, joining Josko Gvardiol on the sidelines. Grealish is likely to be ruled out for two to three weeks after sustaining a groin problem during the 1-3 win against Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.

Bernardo Silva will be subject to a late fitness assessment following a heavy knock to his ankle in Copenhagen on Tuesday night, while Mateo Kovacic and Sergio Gomez have returned to City training. The club is preparing for challenging fixtures across multiple competitions, with FA Cup, Premier League, and UEFA Champions League matches on the horizon.

Guardiola’s team will feel confident going into their UEFA Champions League last-16 second-leg match after picking up a 1-3 win on the road at Parken on Tuesday night. City is also preparing for matches against Luton Town, Manchester United, and Liverpool later in the month.
