Cole Palmer made a promise to Manchester City ahead of today’s Clash

The Etihad Stadium will host a big match in the early hours later. Manchester City, as the home team, will host one of England’s strong teams, Chelsea, in the 25th week of the EPL 2023/2024 season.

This match will be emotional for Cole Palmer. It’s the first time the winger will visit the Etihad Stadium as an opponent after leaving City in the upcoming summer season.

Recently, Palmer was asked for comments regarding his upcoming return to City. What was the winger’s response?

Speaking to Sportsmole, Palmer expressed enthusiasm for facing Manchester City in the early hours.

Although he admitted it would feel strange to play at the Etihad Stadium as an opponent rather than as a Manchester City player.

“I can’t wait to play this game even though it will feel strange to me,” Palmer said.

Palmer also emphasized that he wouldn’t be ‘soft’ towards his former club.

He promised to deliver his best performance so that Chelsea could clinch a victory at the Etihad Stadium.

“I am very excited, and I will give my best in this game even though, as I said, it will feel very strange,” he concluded.

Chelsea itself has a poor record when facing Manchester City.

The Blues have never won in their last six encounters against City, with five losses and one draw.
